Chessnut not fully turning on
EDIT to the EDIT: So seems like it might not have been a bad SD Card, but either the SD Card reader or some other component, but the matter of the fact is that it just melted the SD Card replacement I used and for science I tried a third one and it was already starting to overheat so just turned it off and removed. I have emailed the support and hopefully I can get a replacement. The steps to check if your issue is similar to mine are the same, retrieve the SD card and see if it's corrupted, if it is, probably having the same issue as me (another option is to try to recall if you ever felt like the board was getting hot close to the A row.
EDIT: Turns out the problem was a bad SD Card. If anyone is facing the same problem, the easiest way to check if this is the problem is by opening the lid with the battery pack at the bottom of the board. That should give you access to the board where it should have a black tape in it, under the blacktape you should find the SD Card, if you remove it and plug it to the PC through any SD card reader, you should be able to tell if it's corrupted or not. If it is, there you go, that is your issue, you will need a new SD card and the firmware (I have received through the customer support, I will ask if I can share it, but otherwise just reach out to customer service and describe your findings). BE WARNED, DO THIS ONLY IF YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH THE RISK OF VOIDING WARRANTY OR YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH THE TECHNICAL SIDE OF THINGS
I had my chessnut move board turned off and unplugged for like 2 weeks, and when trying to turn it on today, it just didn't, assumed lack of battery and plugged it in, tried to turn it on, and it did, it would enable the bluetooth but never get the green light for the pieces (Pieces are fully charged), I would try to connect to the bluetooth both through the chessnut app and chessconnect. They managed to connect, but then they would not be able to communicate any further, not even get battery level.
At the moment, while plugged in, it shows the solid green light in the power LED as if fully charged, but if I try to turn it on it just repeats the same behaviour, it never turns fully green, does not detect the pieces, connects through bluetooth but does nothing once connected and after a while just powers off. This behaviour is consistent with it being plugged in or not.
I have tried using the pinhole to reset the boards, which force shutdown the board (only way to do it other than waiting it out after turning on, if I turn it on I can't turn it off any otherway than waiting or pinhole)
I have also tried pressing the four buttons with the board turned on and off and never did anything.
Any suggestions? Or is this something for tech support? (I am trying to avoid them as they have been "very helpful" in the past?
