Are modern genres such as Rap, Hip-pop, and Pop stuck in a standstill of where to go?
So I was seeing many tiktoks talking about how great the music from decades past was compared to what we have now in the modern space, and I was wondering how this consensus on apps such as tik tok became to be. I'm aware that not everyone thinks that the current state of pop, rap, Hip-pop, among others has been contested. I just wanna hear y'all opinions on whether or not music has become formulaic or that social media has greatly thwarted how we consume music (particularly users on tiktok that judge songs based on the short clip their see or hear).
