my experience and death log on hardcore (rant)
ive played wow my whole life on and off. When i have the time i pay the sub play a few weeks grind m+ or play classic. Nothing has consumed like hardcore, last few times i payed the sub i only played hardcore, i bring friends who never played wow do hardcore and they actually enjoy it (they hate mmos).
I think the charm of hardcore is that the world feels more alive than any other iteration of wow. Not because of more population, but because theres always people at your level, either in tirisfal glades or desolace you always find someone to join forces and do the hard quests. And theres no try hard expectations, no one expects you to enter the game and be ready to raid, which i think happens in regular classic. Theres this expectation in non hc servers of knowing everything every skip every dungeon so that you can quick level to 60. Not in hc, its classic at its purest form, “the journey”.
This being said, this month I payed the sub, and was grinding on my rogue arround level 30 and died.
Since then its been a trainwreck.
died as a rogue again to a late night scarlet monastery under leveled party wipe.
died to quests at 20, 14 and 18.
Died to fall damage :( at 10
and now died for the first time as a warrior to gazz’uz oh mighty gazz’uz.
i feel like im getting dumber and dying more often to things that i didnt die before because now i only want to reach my best level fast so i can continue my journey where i dropped it. i feel like i wanna experience the full classic 1-60 but i dont feel like doing it on a non hc server because there, i will seep into the retail mentality of trying to do it as fast as possible so i can raid.
I have honestly no idea how to conclude this post as it is mostly a rant, thank you.
