Welcome to this inaugural Episode Thread, where we discuss in depth everything about one specific episode of Arcane.

We'll start with episode 2 of season 1 but we'll actually talk about the whole act 1 at the same time. Caitlyn is absent from episode 3 and only barely heard once in episode 1 so we'll group them all together.

Imagine this gremlin jumps you and you instantly drop from cuteness attack

Which character should have had more dialogues with Caitlyn? Which relationships do you wish were better explored? Or which one should have met her but didn't?

I would have loved to see more Caitlyn and Mel. I feel like she could have been some kind of big sister to her, mirroring her relationship with Jayce. I HC that post-canon, they bond over fighting together and their shared grief for Jayce and always remain close, despite the physical distance.

Caitlyn could have had some very interesting interactions with Ekko, at any point of the story but especially in S2. We always talk about how Ambessa filled the void left by Vi after the 2x03 breakup, but let's not forget that Jayce, Mel and Ekko all disappear at the same moment too. Any of them could have helped Caitlyn avoid being trapped by Ambessa. She really was desperately alone at that point.

Finally, I wish we knew what kind of relationship Caitlyn and Viktor had. Being Jayce's partner, I can't imagine they never met and I'm sure they would have liked each other. Viktor and Caitlyn have the same ideals, they both want to improve the life of people in both cities and can both be quite obsessive about it.

Starting on Monday May 11th, we'll start a new series of threads to discuss in depth every episode of Arcane through Caitlyn's perspective. You can see it as a community rewatch or a place for detailed analysis of the show, on an episode-by-episode basis.

Every two weeks, a new thread will be created, focusing on one episode and more specifically what happens to Caitlyn in this particular episode. Every aspect of her can be discussed: plot, character development, outfits, headcanons and missing scenes, cute screenshots and silly memes... It will be your place to express everything you need to say about our favorite blue-eyed mongoose.

The inaugural post of the series wil be on Monday, May 11th.

As an exception, it will focus on not just one but three episodes, the entire Act 1 of Season 1 since there is not enough of Caitlyn in these to justify single episode threads. Then the rhythm will be one episode every two weeks, with the final one scheduled for early December if all goes well.

Get ready for this, rewatch the episodes if you fell like it and prepare your long rambling comments or your meme and edits.
