I happened to be in the Abbotsford area today and thought maybe since I was in the area I'd stop by a sports bar to catch the Lions-Stamps game today. I didn't really find many good leads, and called a number of bars that seemed to have a decent chance. Every one of them was like "well, we can put the game on one tv for you if you like."
The BC Lions page even only lists partner bars within the MetroVan area (except Nanaimo).
Is it actually this bad? I was kind of surprised. Or is it just the World Cup stealing attention? A lot of the bars were like "no it's all FIFA right now."
Obviously there were lots of people out Kelowna way that were happy for the match, so it's not just that.
Are CFL fans just only mostly in the core cities and metros?
Our latest "ones that got away" field trip was to Tulsa to watch FC Tulsa vs Colorado Springs Switchbacks.
Left: AB Cissoko (Tulsa) Right: Frank Daroma (Switchbacks)
Frank technically was never a Sounder as he was not signed up to the first team. AB and Frank knew each other very well on Tacoma Defiance. Before the match, we saw AB hug Frank and pick him up playfully. We got Frank photoed with a Tacoma scarf last year when we visited him in El Paso where he played previously for El Paso Locomotive.
PS: FC Tulsa 1 - 2 Switchbacks
Can't even follow a team. No Meath-Westmeath, no Sligo-London, now no Kerry-Kildare? Come off it lads
AM, 5G/2A in 12 apps a.a.c. for Knoxville (USL1), and Lexington (USLC) wants him back. Was a standout player for Tacoma, third player in club history to score a hat trick and almost did it twice. Got signed to Sounders 1st team, got injured in preseason and couldn't get back to form before being cut.
O'Connor saying Kerry's performance over Clare (by 8 points) isn't good enough to beat Cork. But Clare played their asses off and Tipperary isn't exactly a felled giant.
Is this just more of Kerry's "cute hooring?" Kerry wasn't bad at all especially considering being out so many men. Trying to make Cork overconfident?
