So, about the cut species from Prehistoric Planet Ice Age...

Does, anyone have an idea where they were suppose to fit them ? I have a few theories on which segment they would originally, so, let's see If I'm just overthinking or would you agree on them ?

  • Deinotherium bozasi: would appear on the grasslands segments, perhaps on the segment which the mammoths were crossing the savannah to get to the forests which they were depended on but that were becoming more scarce and would lead to their extinction
  • Giant Lemurs (Archaeoindris?): maybe they would be featured in segment that became the Gigantopithecus, but would be dealing with the climate changes that were affecting Madagascar during the Pleistocene-Holocene
  • Hieraaetus moorei: most likely in the Moa segment, hunting the adults
  • Megantereon: would probably appear in the Gigantopithecus segment hunting the large ape
  • Miracinonyx: most likely would appear on the Grasslands episode, perhaps on segment were It would be hunting pronghorns
  • Paranthropines: I think they said they were meant to appear on the Grasslands episode where It would be seen on the back watching the Enhydriodon
  • Pezophaps solitaria & Raphus cucullatus: most likely would appear on the New Lands Episode, perhaps in a segment where they would be competing for mates or raising their young
  • Sivatherium: most likely in the Grasslands episode, but on which segment I have no idea
  • Theropithecus oswaldii: maybe they would the ones that the Homotherium coalition would be attempting to prey, only to fight and fend them off
  • Zygomaturines (probably Maokopia or Hulitherium): probably would appear on the New Lands episode, being the underrated weirdos of the pleistocene

Idea for an (potential) story

So I have immersed in the villainess stories these time and have been Itched to write an short webnovel, but I would like others opinion (actually It may not even be too much of a otomeisekai, but I kinda like this community due to your opinions and comments)

So, first, It would not go to be a terribly long story that spans 100+ch due to misunderstandings and unneeded drama, maybe 30 at most. I'm thinking of a vibe similar to the "The One Within the Villainess'' plus "Age of Arrogance" but would go from mostly an 'side-character' perspective. I don't have the names of the characters as of now, so I will go with their titles.

Synopsis: After being driven out from the court by the newly risen Saintess, an Magician finds themselves living on the border of the empire. They soon find themselves being targeret by a female Barbarian who is obsessed with battling strong opponents. With the promise of finding worthy opponents who can grant him a glorious death in battle, the Magician joins hands with the Barbarian as means to get his revenge on those who turned their backs on them. As these two walk an hellish path to destruction, only time will tell If the relationship between them is doomed end up with death or something unexpected awakens.

Main Characters:

  • The Magician: an former Court Mage that was driven out due to conflict with Saintess who recently became the Crown Prince fiancee. Deceptive, sarcastic, twisted and unhinged, they can hold a grudge. Enjoys his solitude. Was one of the only ones that saw how the Saintess was slowly and silently taking over the power in the empire, but notheless also respects her due to the all the work she put on It. Actually feels relaxed with the Barbarian due to her being staying true to herself and finds themselves constantly awed by her strenght. Is considered to be 'anomalous' by other magicians. Is an entomancer - not only can summon arthropods but also can turn into a swarm. Has a pair of antennas on top of his hair and a pair of wings. Goal: get his revenge on the empire by stealing the Saintess accomplishes and raising his reputation and power;
  • The Barbarian: an Barbarian that driven by an insatiable, exhilarating thirst for worthy combat. Fierce, relentless, proud and arrogant, is also know to be quite gluttonous. Is accostumed to be alone, but enters an temporary alliance with the Magician as means to find battles worthy of her strenght. Left her tribe due to her 'curse'. Covered in many scars in her arms and legs. Like bigcats such as lions, tiger and leopards. Finds herself enjoying the Magician company due to their conversations and cooking skills - acknowleges their power and find themselves wondering on how a battle between them would end. Despite enjoying hand-to-hand combat, uses an personalized meteor hammer to inflicted massive damage. Goal: finally find the ultimate opponent who would grant her a glorious death in battle.
  • The Saintess: the newly appointed fiancee of the Crown Prince. Originally the daughter of an noble house, she was used as an scapegoat to her families crime and sentenced to death by the guillotine. However, the day after being executed, she found herself ressurected and her head reattached to her body (but with a scar where the blade cut). Mysterious and cunning, she often shows a side that present herself as benevolent and nurturing, with many unaware of her true nature. The church is trying to use her as a bargain to install a Holy Empire with via marriage with the Crown Prince, but unknown to them, the Saintess is slowly gaining power of her own to fufill her goals. Despite vigilant due to the Magician finding out what she was doing, was not planning on antagonizing them due to them being unpredictable. After the Magician was driven out, she found herself quite bored due to not having challenges - that's until she started hearing the tales of an peculiar duo of characters making a name for themselves. Goal: unknown
  • The Crown Prince: the powerful and breathtaking handsome heir to the Empire. Despite always presenting himself as 'perfect', he is quite egotistical and has a deep (and well hidden) inferiority complex. Has a complicated relationship with Magician - due to the Magician remaining utterly unmoved by him, they stand apart to the rest who tremble before him. Upon being engaged to the Saintess, he finds himself quite interested in her for being 'different' and challeging him, but still is annoyed with the Magician and his indifference. As a mean to finally corner the Magician and make him look his way, he hatches a plan to make as If the Magician has conspired against the Saintess and drive him out. Despite sucedding, he now is constantly thinking about the Magician and how they did not acknowlegde him or begged for forgiveness. Goal: to remain perfect and make the Magician wield to him.

These are the broad stroke and the main players of the story (there are many more but I would like It to keep simply for now). Do you guys think is worth writing something or have any tips ?

Would a freshwater basilosaur exist?

Due to existence of freshwater mosasaur, I would like to know If the existence of a freshwater basilosaurid is possible. I know they wouldn't be giant raptorial predators like Basilosaurus, but probably more akin to the size of Tutcetus.

But, would they have different adaptations to a river enviroment that we see in modern freshwater dolphin species? Like, a pinkish coloration, a more flexible neck and a more enlogated and slender snout to catch fish?
