The Stars Were Superb Last Weekend

I’m back with another from my amateur catalog. Was headed to climb in Tuolumne and spent the night on the BLM outside of Bishop. Got lucky and saw one of the best Milky Way’s I’ve seen in a long time! I’m new to night photography but I’m very happy with this one. @ross_goldberg_photo for more of my stuff!

Northern Lights over Mt. Tom

A few months ago we got the northern lights down here in CA. I got this photo from the BLM land outside of Bishop of the lights. Single image. My photography is at @ross_goldberg_photo if you like my sierra photos!

One of my favorites shot handheld one morning on a rush up to June Lake

Been having fun sharing all my photos here since I discovered this subreddit. Shot this guy while bombing up to June Lake to score a free day pass from a buddy. Shot handheld while driving with my Z6II and 70-200 f2.8. From the 2024/2025 season.

Break in the storm over bishop

Caught this photo during a break in the New Year’s Day storm Jan 1 2025. The clouds were spectacular

North Buttress of Merriam

I take my heavy camera out on climbing and ski trips in the Sierra. This is from sunset when I skied Feather Peak this last spring.

~12L vest for people who run hot?

I have rocked my Solomon Adv. 12L vest for years. I love the space and configuration. The problem I have with it is that I run very very hot, and this vest hasn’t done me any favors in that department.

Does anyone have recommendations for a more breathable option with similar carrying capacity as the adv 12? I’m open to any brand Solomon or otherwise.

After a few years with a Zf and Z8, I was gifted some older lenses. I borrowed a body and now I’m testing out the “other side”

Who would follow ravens around a meadow to practice getting shots of birds? Definitely not me….

I had some time before going climbing in Yosemite. Pulled out my Z8 and 180-600 lens to take some pictures of the birds around El Cap Meadow. The birds here are very desensitized to people due to the sheer number of tourists so they make it easy to practice getting sharp photos of birds.
