What is the average package, can we expect from a fresher (Devops Role) India

I am a 2026 grad from India keen interest in Cloud and devops, lately I've observed that there aren't much fresher roles as a devops engineers (openings)
what should I do? should I change my "niche" or should I stick to devops only.
and what average package can I expect as a devops engineer according to current market standards for freshers.

👀All my applications to amazon are referrals, mostly those people rejected.

but what I've observed is, among all 6 applications out there, 5 of'em I literally got reply from amazon on time span of just 2 days.
but this one (which is currently open) it's been ~1week since I applied and no response.
is there any chance that I may get some OA or something .?
this is a fresh Grad Role no prior experience required.
Peace 🔍.

Need a best online option for preparing CAT

Hey there,
I just graduated from a tier-3 college (Btech) trying for placements (unplaced from Campus placements) I came to home with simple luggage bags, not with a job after applying for lots and lots of jobs out there including. referrals I couldn't manage to get a job despite of having decent skills and a CV (80+ ATS score).
so I was little broke and thought of writing CAT exam I just want some good Online platform where people can teach all the concepts of CAT on a single go with "flexibility" the word flexible refers, I am preparing for Tech jobs as well so that is the reason.
I hope someone can help me your personalised preferences out there or the best one, thank you
Please consider the budget.
Thanks in Advance
Have a good day :)

Help me :( to be independent. Feeling really discouraged after months of no placements despite decent skills — thinking about trying Upwork, need honest advice

Hey everyone,

Just needed to vent a bit and also get some real advice from people who've actually been through this.

I'm a recent BTech grad, skills-wise I'd say I'm in a decent spot — DevOps, cloud computing (mainly GCP), and some backend web dev on the side. Grinded out 800+ questions on LeetCode and got my resume ATS score up to 80+ after multiple rounds of feedback and edits. On paper it feels like I've done the "right" things.

The one thing working against me: I had backlogs in 3rd year of my degree (cleared them by 3rd year 2nd sem), and I think that's quietly killing a lot of my applications before I even get a shot at an interview. Tried for months on the full-time front and it's just been silence or rejections.

At this point I'm considering just trying to get freelance work through Upwork instead of waiting for a "traditional" placement. I know you have to buy connects to bid on jobs, and I'm fine spending like $15-20 to start out.

My actual question for anyone who's used Upwork seriously: does paying for connects actually translate into landing gigs, or is it mostly a money sink for beginners with no reviews/portfolio yet? I'm not expecting guarantees, just want to know if it's a realistic path to get my first freelance win, or if I'm better off putting that money/effort somewhere else (Fiverr, cold outreach, personal projects, etc).

Any honest experiences — good or bad — would really help right now.

Guys, the text in the post was AI-generated. Thanks for reading, understanding :)
