WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT IT?

The sketch is not relevant to this post. I only posted it to grab your attention but yes, he is a character in one of my stories. 😭

But hey, I am writing a story, and I have created an entire language (written and spoken) for my fictional world. I have included some of it in the screenshots.

The dialect is mostly gibberish, except for a few words that I created by breaking Hindi words apart and adding random letters to them.

Of course, the story itself will be written in English so that we can understand everything. However, the characters in the story will be speaking their own language.

Now, coming to my actual concern.

I have also created my own titles for royalty and nobility. You know, the words we use to address people, such as Lord, Lady, His Majesty, Her Highness, Prince, and Princess.

I have come up with my own versions, like:-

King – Anwar

Queen – Anasuyi (the king's first wife)

The king's second wife and any subsequent wives: Anwari

Prince – Yawan

Princess – Wadrin

Lord – Siwen

Lady – Savini

My question is, can I use these titles instead of the English ones? For example, can I write "O Siwen" or "O Savini" instead of "O Lord" or "O Lady"? Or would that sound strange to readers?

My second concern is about the world itself.

A lot of my inspiration comes from Indian history and culture, not entirely though. Just a bit of this and that. Like the clothing combines historical Indian influences with some modern elements, and the currency system is inspired by the Mauryan Empire. Like i changed the name of silver coins, pana, to aropya as ropya means silver.

However, my characters are not associated with any particular real world ethnicity. They belong to my fictional world and are simply who they are within it.

My story is a historical fantasy, so I am combining different influences to create something of my own rather than recreating an actual historical society.

Would that be okay? Can I take inspiration from Indian culture and history while creating a fictional world where the characters do not belong to any real world ethnicity?

I am a little confused about how to approach this.

Can anyone help fix this

Google Docs is repeating the same chapter content at the beginning of every page in Print Layout

I’m having a really strange problem with Google Docs. I was writing my story and had just pasted my recent chapter into the document. Immediately after that, something went wrong with the formatting.

When Print Layout is turned OFF, the document looks normal. But when I turn Print Layout ON, every page starts with the same chapter title and the same several paragraphs from the beginning of my recent chapter.

For example, the chapter starts with “3. THE DAUGHTER OF SOLQUERA,” followed by the opening paragraphs. On page 2, page 3, page 4, etc., the exact same title and opening paragraphs appear again at the top of every page, while the rest of the chapter continues underneath.

The page numbers are also increasing normally, so Google Docs is treating these as separate pages. It is not simply showing the same page repeatedly.

I already tried copying the entire document into a new Google Doc, but the problem still happens.

Ive asked on other subs too but did no't get response.

Does anyone have any knowledge about sword fighting?

I got the basics of sword fighting from a YouTube video because I needed to write a scene in my story where my MMC is teaching my FMC how to fight with a sword. These are just the basic things I gathered from that video.

The problem is that I have basically zero knowledge about sword fighting. So I wanted to ask anyone who has written fantasy or any other story involving sword fighting before...are these basics correct? Is there anything here that I should change or understand differently?

I also want to learn more about sword fighting so I can write it properly. I do not want to just write, "They practiced sword fighting" or "he taught her how to use a sword". I want to actually show little moments from their training.I want their training to feel like actual sword training rather than two characters just using sword. 😭

So if anyone has experience writing sword fights or knows good resources for learning the basics I would really appreciate some suggestions on what I should learn and pay attention to.

(And ignore my handwriting. It changes according to my mood.)

Doctors said this teenage girl's condition worsened after medicine for missed periods.

I'm trying to understand what medical condition this could possibly be. This is about a girl I know who is younger than 18.

Her periods had stopped for a few months, so her parents took her to a doctor and she was given medicine to bring them back or to provide her relief from pain. Later, the doctors from hospital said her condition became much more severe because of the medicine she was given for her periods.

From what I know, she has a large abdominal swelling with many "gaanth" (masses). When she had a scan ( probably a CT or MRI), the doctors saw multiple masses in her abdomen.

She couldn't pass stool or urine for a long time. Eventually, she started passing a lot of waste, and her urine became bright orange.

The doctors planned a major abdominal surgery that was expected to take about 2.5 hours. Before the operation, they had her family sign consent forms saying there was a risk that she could die. Unfortunately, I was told the surgery was not successful.

I've also been told:

\- Her intestines were filled with blood.

\- She has already received blood transfusions three times but still has very low blood.

\- For next three months, both her bowel and urinary passages have been diverted outside her body (I'm not sure of the exact medical terms, possibly stomas).

\- She has tubes through her nose and mouth, and a very dark, thick substance, almost like burnt oil in appearance, has been coming out through those tubes.

\- So far, she has only passed about the same amount of urine as would fit in a urine sample bottle, despite being given a large amount of glucose.

Does anyone know what kind of condition could cause all of this?
