just an goodbye

we have now decided for my cat to be put down tomorrow, i just want to share photos from all the years i’ve had him❤️
hes been with me through hard times and good times, hes seen me grow up and i’ve seen him grow up. i remember when we first got him, he was unsure but happy, he bonded with me and my family instantly. he was stuck the most with me, he always sleeps with me and i cant sleep without him, i will miss him forever but he will now sleep peacefully without pain❤️
hes the most goofy and happy cat, he loves new people and has never hurt anyone willingly. he loved being outside (that led to many escapes) and we would always find him sunbathing haha.
its hard to accept that he will be gone soon but he cant suffer anymore just for me.
now you can run away all you want without us interrupting you in your exploring of the world.
goodbye Ivan, we will miss you.❤️

is it time to euthanise my cat?

my cat, a sphynx of around 8 years has been sick with an heart condition that has caused fluid in his abdomen, he got medicine for it but it seems to not have helped. i had hope of him getting better but after two months (vet said he will live abt three months if treatment didnt work) hes just gotten worse, hes extremely thin, lost alot of balance, he cant go up on his hind legs like he always used to, his stomach is extremely big and it feels like its going to burst, i sometimes hear clicking when he breaths and he seems to have lost alot of energy BUT his breathing is the same as before (around 27-20 breaths per minute while resting or calm), he still has the will for going outside, to eat, to get pet(he still purrs) and walk around. he still seems to have the will to live.
the vet is extremely expensive and we’ve already spent 1000+ dollars on two vet visits, the medicine is very expensive too. yes i know its dumb not to have insurance on a cat but the insurance company(idk what to call it) went bankrupt and my cat was too old to get an affordable insurance by that point.
i really love him and i dont want to take his life away when he still seems happy but i dont want him to suffer anymore, his body cant put up with what his soul wants to do.

My cat is dying

(this is kinda like a vent)
about two months ago i noticed that my cat was VERY bloated. my dad told me that it was nothing, but after a week my mom helped me get an vet appointment and after two visits he got diagnosed with an heart condition that i dont know the name of (not hcm but something that is very rare), one of the symptoms were biventricular heart failure / congestive heart failure (directly translated from my language so i dont know if its right) that has caused liquid in his abdomen. He is on heart medication and two medications to get rid of the liquid in his abdomen but that has clearly not worked. The vet told me that if the treatment isnt working he might die in about three months. im so scared.
im only 16 years old and i am the one dealing with my dying cat, im the one giving him medication because no one in my family follows my instructions on how to give it (when my dad gives it my cat doesnt eat about half of the medicine and my siblings dont help) so im stuck at home just to give my cat medicine and check on him constantly. i love him. ive had him for about 7-8 years. i dont want to loose him but everyday i notice his breathing sounding different, him getting skinnier(even his tail looks bony now), his abdomen still being huge and i notice his energy disappearing.
