Monstera obliqua or adansonii
I know they say it’s never an obliqua. What are your thoughts? This was given to me as an obliqua.

Hi everyone. I’m happy to share that I’ve officially joined the mod team. Interestingly, I applied for this position a while back and was denied, but today I received an invitation to join. While I’m not entirely sure what happened with the previous moderator, they’ve been inactive and haven't responded to messages. I’m excited to help keep this space growing.
This community has potential to be the primary hub for tissue culture enthusiasts. While acclimation is often talked about, I’d love to see us shift into a more technical territory. I want this to be a place for collaboration and community driven. I’m looking for your input.
What would you like to see and which recommendations to you have?
Question: Will you be trying out these new medias and what concerns do you have?
These formulations (Houseplant Rooting Media and Houseplant Multiplication Media) are designed to eliminate the need for measuring sucrose, vitamins, or individual auxins/cytokinins. They are also pH-buffered, meaning you theoretically don't need to calibrate your pH. Simply add water, PPM, and your gelling agent of choice. I think this can be a game changer for beginners as it simplifies workflow. I hope this doesn't provide the same results as the Athena Shoots and Roots Media. Since some hormones can be sensitive to light and temperature, I can't help but wonder how long will the powder remain stable. I couldn't find details on which hormones are being used. Regardless I appreciate the dedication of Francisco Palacios and his team at u/Plant-Cell-Tech
Hello. I’ve been following this community and I truly believe this page has incredible potential to be the primary hub for tissue culture hobbyists. Currently, it feels like the sub is primarily focused on buyers acclimating plants they’ve already purchased. While acclimation is a vital part of the process, I’d love to see more content centered on the "lab" side of things: micropropagation, troubleshooting, and experimenting.
I reached out to moderate this sub to help steer it in that direction, but I was recently denied (likely due to my lack of previous Reddit mod experience). Is anyone else interested in moderating? If you have the experience and the passion to help this community grow into a more technical resource, please comment below.
Is the community happy as is? If you prefer the current focus on acclimation, that’s totally fair and this community can remain as is. If you are looking for a space specifically dedicated to the technical side of TC, I’ve also created r/TCLabs. It’s intended to be a place for the lab hobbyist. If anyone is interested in helping me mod r/TCLabs or just wants to join a community focused on the science of the hobby, come say hi! Would love to hear your thoughts on where you'd like to see this sub go.
