Enable PCI x8 on Dell OptiPlex Micro Plus 7010

Hi everyone! I want to turn my Dell OptiPlex Micro Plus 7010 into a Dell Precision 3260 Compact! So, I’m calling on Dell Precision 3260 Compact owners—I need your help!

Soldering the SATA 0 connector wasn't hard!

Soldering in the x8 connector—easy!

And that's when the trouble started! The device wasn't being detected, so I started analyzing the motherboard. Here is what I’ve found and what I know so far:

PRSNT1# – hard-wired to ground.

PRSNT2# (B17/B31/B48) – 3.3V; when the device is inserted, these pins are pulled to ground!

CLKREQ# – always 0; it's simply missing!

WAKE# – 3.3V.

PERST# – I got the correct signal by soldering in the chip and the supporting circuitry, including a capacitor for the 100ms delay.

PWRBRK# – ?

TX lines – filter capacitors are needed!

I need any help or tips! I don't have the original riser; I was working from photos! But logically speaking, there's nothing special about it other than stepping down 19.6V to 12V!

Dell Optiplex micro plus 7010 transformation into Dell precision 3260 compact

Hello everyone! I am an engineer not only by profession but also by heart, many things that fall into my hands become a little better or completely different! What am I talking about, some time ago I came across a Dell Optiplex micro plus 7010 at a local auction, and until the auction started I had time to prepare from the technical side - the PC was not working and according to the seller, it was giving post signals! I bought it for 60 dollars! While the PC was on its way to me, I found a processor according to my budget - Intel Core i5-13500t for 150 dollars (expensive to be honest, although I haven't bought RAM yet). Having received all the components, I started restoring the PC! Everything was not very easy, but everything works! After the work was restored, I started the upgrade - looking at the Dell Precision 3260 Compact motherboard - it became clear that the upgrade would be successful, even though all these unsoldered ports were in the device tree! The first thing I did was to unsolder the SATA - the capacitors that were smaller than the tip of a needle fell into place, I found the connector, unfortunately it was 16 pins, although Dell has 12! Hurray, the SATA is working! The next step will be to connect the video card via M.2-oculink, now we have one M.2 port and one unsoldered PCI! The plan is this

1st M.2 - Oculink video card

2nd M.2 - NVME M.2

Custom cooling of the processor and VRM zones

Print a case in sizes close to 3260 Compact (although the height will depend more on the type of cooling for the processor)

Unsolder PCIe 4.0 x8 and connect a 10Gbit network card there!

I found a riser for Dell Precision 3260 Compact in our open spaces but they ask for 70 dollars for it - I'm not ready to pay how much, not knowing - will it work or not!

I have a question, maybe someone has encountered such a PCIe upgrade on such PCs, or maybe someone knows what's in that riser! I would be glad for help! Because my head will explode while I look through all these lines and understand how it activates the connector!
