29M | ₹1.12Cr portfolio | Planning for FIRE in ~6 years — looking for strategy feedback
I'm 29M and currently have a net worth of roughly ₹1.12Cr.
Current portfolio
- ₹56L — Indian equities (~90% small-cap)
- ₹30L — Mutual funds (~70% small-cap, 30% mid-cap/flexi-cap)
- ₹13L — PF
- ₹6L — Cash
- ₹4L — FD
- ₹3L — Gold/jewellery
Income & savings
- Take-home: ~₹2.9L/month (~₹35L/year)
- Investments: ~₹2.4L/month (~₹29L/year)
- Expenses: ~₹53.5K/month (~₹6.4L/year)
Upcoming goals
- House: ₹50–70L in 2–3 years, likely using a loan
- Marriage: ~₹15L in ~2 years
My long-term goal is FIRE, ideally within ~6 years. I don't necessarily want to stop working completely, but I'd like to reach a point where working becomes optional.
For people already on the FIRE path:
- Would you change the equity/debt allocation significantly at this stage?
- How would you separate the house + marriage corpus from the FIRE corpus?
- Given my current savings rate, what would you focus on over the next 5–6 years to make FIRE realistic?
Looking for strategy/experience-based feedback, particularly from people who have already reached or are close to FIRE.
Note: My retirement plan is to move back to a Tier-3 city in my hometown, so my post-retirement expenses should remain relatively low.
