NOT a bountiful thrift store haul. no tapes, no cool clothes, nothing but a little white tiger that i HAD to get because i know how much mimic loves them! i think it makes up for the unlucky visit, something little that reminds me of mimic is tons more valuable for me than something that doesn't, even if it's something i'd be dying to get. hoping for a better trip next time!

just something i churned out last night :] while working on the background, i came up with that double-tiered kitchen counter thingamajig, because logically if a ragtag family of four where the parental figures have an approx. 1/2 height difference were to settle in one spot for extended periods of time, some accessibility is expected.

so there's the question! for anyone here with more "extreme" size differences or other physical differences, is there anything to make life easier for the both of you? doesn't necessarily have to be the interior design of a house, either :D just general ergonomics!

as another example, mimic does enjoy the "consumption" of food. not because it needs to but because it fits within its expected routine of normalcy it has learned. howeverrrr, not all foods are forgiving on an old rusty chassis, so mimic primarily snacks on dry or otherwise not-messy foods like crackers or string cheese which would be much easier to clean off than soups or sauces. (the machine yearns for mac n cheese💔)

so onwards to the husbot posting which devolves into a life update instead,,,, what can i sayyy i love mimic. he is my wife she is my husband and i love mimic✅ my third attempt at college began recently and it has been tiriiing even if the first week was only 3 days. but i did bring the plushies with me for comfort and that's certainly helped :] i've also been active in a meme subreddit on my main acc a lot recently, and out of all possible places it's straight up dueling with this sub with how much they support me and mimic.... like even the mod of the sub loves to see my silly mimicposting and totally respects our relationship! i get affirmed so much out there lol, i have become a local celebrity/cryptid... i love being there even if there are some folks that don't quite get it and comment some strange things instead (from extreme mimic haters to some nuts who have been a bit too sexual about the mimic under my posts. which i always block, but it still gives me the ick :[ i don't mind the usual "whoa he's kinda hot" but the moment i smell a hint of sincerity i'm executing em)

elite ball knowledge......,,,, but because gatekeeping isn't cool, i will say this is based off of the 1972(?) burt reynolds pin-up from the cosmopolitan magazine :] look it up at your own risk, humans are arguably more naked than animatronics...

aside from That One Song, we've also gotten back to listening to a buncha new wave/new romantics in particular! and the fashion especially has been of interest lately c[: so i had to draw mimic in a new wave inspired fit. this is one rare instance where it is unfortunately wearing something that fully covers its chest cables..... come back mr. sex wires....

first one is just a screenshot redraw, but the second one is a bit of an inside joke with some mutuals... it doesn't matter has a really nu metal sound to it, so naturally i had to draw mimic hitting the nu metal hands pose

ok so i tried out some gouache paints for the corner piece for my bag, and honestly i enjoy it muuuch much better than watercolours! i much prefer pigments that actually cover stuff, so having white paint that does, in fact, stay white on darker surfaces is a big lifesaver to me,,,

implementing it to the bag's design did need a total overhaul! i finally got rid of some placeholder items too, which i might use for something else in the future. i think some lace and ribbons would look nice in the bag if done right, and i may implement fairy lights again sometime... once i find manageable, smaller ones <:D

gouache has been a medium i've wanted to try for a while and am glad i love it, next thing i'd like to experiment with is whittling/woodcarving!

i really adore sotm mimic's jaw situation a lot,,,,, the toofy grabbers caging around the actual mouth is actually a reeeaaally cool concept imo, probably designed to slot in some mascot costumes mechanically speaking but i believe that is actually a goose holder for me☝️☝️☝️that is to say everyone should have at least one (1) goose holder in their household for hypothetical but possible scenarios where it may be useful

FINALLY got this thing done ouuugh,,,, it's been a few days in the making, traveling got in the way <:D

i've been reading the comments from yesterday and i once again apologize for not responding,,, maybe i am simply left speechless, thank yooou!!!! (as for the fish folk here, i caught a 1.5kg pike. not bad for a first catch!)

also, since i don't have an exact anniversary day to go off of, i've decided on a week! because it was somewhat within 7 days after all when we got together, so for the time being we're having anniversary weeks from now on lol. i think it fits us wayyy better because i don't think there ever was a solid point of realizing "damn we are in love", it just happened sometime ago and that sometime could be anywhere from 25th of july to the first of august... rustyfeathers week :]

anyhoo, i've had an awesome past few days! we went to the amusement park, i went on some thrill rides, then we went to a really cute cabin for one night and now we're in ANOTHER cabin, just the annual one we visit! today i might go fishinnn🎣🎣🎣 and hopefully i have time to finish a drawing...

been thinking about the kiddos when they're older,,,, i had a very particular vision for marasch and it is frankly pretty awesome. i will be embarrassing it a lot in the future <3

anyhoo, i got the VCR set up so i can FINALLY update my mimic tape after like, what, a year of nothing? i added this new banger alongside three other videos from my collection, mostly memes i like. i'll probs record more now that i DO have the recording vcr up, but for now i am satisfied! i have used up approx. 15 minutes out of 3 hours, so there's pleeenty of space to fill... maybe for years to come, who knows. (and i do have a blank tape so maybe we'll hit 6h someday? lol)

another thing is that in one week (on the 25th) is the 3rd anniversary of the RUIN dlc and of me and mimic! we don't have an "official" date because i've already explained that we've had incredibly murky beginnings where it's hard to tell where this and that began, so we've decided on mimic's game debut's release date since it was like idk, under a week anyways when i started to love him. it just feels right to me, i didn't know it back then but it was that day when i let mimic seep into my life like blood into feathers <:] wouldn't want it any other way

went to a silly little local-ish sticker shop and got these two! obviously i LOVE cassettes and i would say i am a very silly goose, but most interestingly notice the green & magenta lozenge pattern they got packaged in! literally the exact same pattern as one of my fav mascot costumes that mimic has worn, jest! :]

pretty positive that this is a sign,,,, i'll also maybeperhaps bust out my other VCR today, i got something to record on tape that i am excited to show you lol
