In this piece, I will outline how the priorities of the NMCOG Bicycle and Pedestrian Plan could shape Lowell's bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure.

Rather than try to summarize the plan for the entire region, in this piece I will focus on the short-term priorities in Lowell.

The Next Threat to Lowell's Public Services

I believe that this ballot initiative, backed by a coalition of large corporations, is the biggest looming threat to public services in Lowell.

Experts estimate that lowering the income tax would cost the state government $5 billion a year, forcing deep cuts to education, health care, and aid to cities and towns. On average, the wealthiest 1 percent would get back more than $30,000 on their taxes, while the bottom 80 percent would only get back a little more than $500.

While at first glance, I think most people would be happy to get $500 more dollars in their pocket, it is important to consider how much the cuts in services will impact people and how much we stand to lose.

I analyze the initiative in depth here.

An Interview with State Rep. Tara Hong

State Rep Tara Hong and I discuss his campaign for re-election for the 18th Middlesex District seat in the September 2026 Democratic Primary.

We discussed his backstory, his platform, and how he contrasts himself with his challenger, City Councilor and former Mayor Sokhary Chau. Then, we explored issues including housing affordability, good governance in the statehouse, taxation, immigration & ICE, homelessness, Cambodian government & politics, the audit of the state legislature, and climate change.

I also aim to interview his challenger, City Councilor and former Mayor Sokhary Chau.

Legalize Starter Homes in Massachusetts

Homeownership is out of reach for too many people in Greater Lowell. This ballot initiative would allow more starter homes to be built, lowering costs and expanding access to homeownership.

I explain how the initiative works and how you can support it here.
