Silverado Power Steering issue

Looking for some help - I have a 2018 Silverado 1500 that’s been having intermittent power steering issues. It started while turning at very low speeds (in parking lots usually), I’d feel the wheel catch slightly, then lose power steering altogether, and get a message on my dash saying “service power steering - drive with care”. If I put my truck in park and shut it off to reset the system, it would kick back on and reset completely, driving normal again. Truck has 93,000 miles.

It’s now happening more often, and occurring when the steering system is under less stress. Still at low speeds, but sometimes I’ll hardly turn the wheel and feel the slight catch, then lose power steering.

I’ve brought it into multiple different shops and each has quoted me insane prices to fully replace the steering rack. I have to believe the problem is electrical, as it resets and kicks back on. From what I’ve researched it looks like the system has a fail safe from being overloaded, and it’s tripping. Maybe due to a loose connection or fuse? Is this something I can problem solve on my own?

Truck has a 3” lift and running 33” tires.

Thank you!
