Burning Ambition on sale today UK

Burning Ambition is available from today to buy or rent from Amazon Prime and Apple TV / iTunes.
The Amazon Prime version has at least 2 extras - a 20 minute interview with Paul DiAnno and a shorter special feature on Clive Burr. There may be more - haven’t had the chance to check properly. Annoying that there doesn’t seem to be a list of the special features on my TV! Prime mentions them, I saw a screen grab from Paul’s FB fan page confirming his interview.

£15.99 to buy on Prime; £12.99 to rent. £19.99 to buy via Apple. I suspect other services will have it too.

In late 1982 or early 1983 a manga series started based on the fictitious social activities of bands popular in Japan at the time. Iron Maiden appear briefly but Eddie has a bigger role as he is the “cartoonist” and he also has a son. The main protagonists are David Sylvian (Japan) and Ryuichi Sakamoto (Yellow Magic Orchestra).

I found this single for £1 in a charity shop. I was drawn to it because it looked like an interesting independent release, is dated 1982, and I really like the sleeve. The sleeve is a folded glossy print wrapped around a generic white inner sleeve. I like the songs, they are clearly influenced by UK new wave and post-punk sounds, possibly power pop, somewhat reminiscent of early JAPAN rather than something from '82. It is well-produced and played. I can't find anything online about who made it.

Johnny Max - who is this artist or band? Who are the songwriters?
Please share with people who may know.

If you are Johnny Max please come forward!
