Hey all, I started fostering my cat Simon since May 5th, he's had problems with excessive itching, at first around his ears. He got mite treatment between his shoulders as well as antibiotics, a check-up 3 weeks after, he was itching less but the scratch wounds around his ears hadn't improved so he went on a wet hypoallergenic food diet, instead of his original dry urinary care food.

I ended up switching back to his dry food once I noticed the excessive licking start from his wet food because the timing made me think maybe the mite treatment kicked in a bit late, and the itching was due to the mites after all. The area around his ears continued to get better, have hair growing back over the areas that got excessively scratched even, but he's been biting the fur off in patches on all four of his feet for a week maybe (it's hard to know exactly for obvious reasons).

I'm just confused about the timing of everything, I just want him to not be itchy anymore. Why is he licking himself after every bite of wet food? Why was he so enthusiastic about the wet food at first, then a few days later ate less and started this licking behaviour? The foster agency isn't super responsive and I just feel confused and alone on this lol.

Hey all, I live in Toronto and never really looked into Disability Pride before. I tried googling but all that's coming up is that the Disability Pride March is moved to September 12 this year because the heat is more tolerable. Does anyone in the sub do anything to mark the month, or know of any events, or even campaigns that are going on to spread awareness about ODSP's inadequacies?
