Long story short, I was in a hurry and had lunch at a roadside stall just outside New Delhi Railway Station (Platform 1 exit).

It was a very basic veg meal: rice, 3 rotis, and sabzi. Normally this kind of meal costs around ₹100-150 at similar roadside places.

After eating, I asked for the bill and they said ₹460. Thats obviously excessive for such places. After some argument, I paid ₹400 to avoid further hassle since I was short on time.

They showed a printed rate chart, but the prices themselves were very high for a footpath stall, and I did not check beforehand, which is on me.

Is this a common scam?
