I’m an American student and I’m going to Oaxaca next month for a college class. I will be staying with a local (70F) in Santa Cruz Xoxocotlán. I know that we will naturally talk about our families and backgrounds, and I’m worried about my sexuality coming up (I’m a woman engaged to a woman). How open to LGBTQ+ are the people in this area? Would an elder woman be less accepting? Thank you.
