No birthright ruling episode?

The birthright ruling came out on Tuesday and they still haven’t made an episode about it? This is undoubtably the most important decision that came out this term. Theres more to talk about too than just the ruling. The POS in charge is already encouraging Congress to take up the matter. Instead we get episodes on student loans (when colleges ended their semesters over a month ago) and the earthquakes in Venezuela (that happened over a week ago).

First haul pickups

First of all, I’d like to thank whoever posted about spending $100 to get $120 in gift cards at Costco. I never would’ve thought of doing that myself. My mother-in-law gave me a gift card for that amount and luckily still had it all just in time for the sale so got the Costco deal immediately.

On to my answers:

  1. I think Foreign Correspondent will be my first watch although I am very excited to watch Kurenko. My wife is intrigued because the back cover says there’s a feminist angle to the story. Just not sure if she’ll watch it before the weekend is over. For those who haven’t seen the cover for Kurenko, it might be the coolest cover I’ve ever seen. It’s like a hologram that appears and disappears depending on the angle you’re looking from. It’s the first thing that got my attention.

  2. I wanted to get Captain Blood during the last 24 hour sale but didn’t have the funds at the time. Had a chance to buy it now though so that’s my answer.

  3. They’re all blind buys. To be honest, I think I have all the criterion films I truly want and love at this point. Most of my purchases now will be mostly blind buys until future announcements are of films I’ve been really wanting to add to my collection. These 4 just stuck out to me due to me hearing about them from reviewers I trust or the premise sounded interesting.

  4. I may only get one more during the sale. If I do it will be the Infernal Affairs trilogy.

Future box sets

Are the Kubrick type box sets that focus on one director that Criterion announced today released every year? Last year we had the Wes Anderson set. Who is the next major box set director you’d like to see? My vote would be for Scorsese.
