For obvious reasons I think this is widely dismissed as typical B-movie shock garbage, and there is plenty of that aspect to it, but this is way more of a "real" movie than I think most people would be inclined to expect.

The writing is surprisingly competent and funny. Acting is actually decent. It felt to me like one of the fun joke episodes of Buffy or Supernatural; more of a satire of B-movies than a true B-movie itself. Very self-aware film.
