I wanted to use a different AI through my Ray-Bans, so I built Chachan
I use my Ray-Bans regularly. Pretty quickly, I started wondering why I couldn’t use the AI voice agents I already use on my phone through them.
I had been using Grok’s voice mode, and I found the experience much better than talking to Meta AI. I wanted that same experience through my glasses without reaching for my phone every time.
So I built Chachan.
Open Chachan on your iPhone to arm it, then leave the phone locked in your pocket. Tap once on the touchpad on the right temple, ask your question, and hear Grok’s response through the glasses.
That’s the whole idea: use the glasses I already wear with an AI agent I prefer.
I’m looking for Meta Ray-Ban owners to test the iPhone/TestFlight beta. I’d particularly like feedback on:
- The first version runs on xAI’s real-time voice. I’m deciding which model to connect next - what would you want to use through the glasses?
- When asking both assistants the same question, where does Chachan feel meaningfully better - or worse - than Meta AI?
- Does the touchpad interaction work reliably enough to keep your phone in your pocket?
- Is anything about setup, arming Chachan, or ending a conversation confusing?
For this early beta, usage is capped at 60 minutes per tester. Chachan does not access the glasses’ camera.
iOS only for now. If you’re on Android, drop a comment - I want to see how many of you there are before I decide whether to build it.
