Wedding Dress Regret (ML)

I bought my wedding dress a few months ago (Monique Lhullier Alexandra) and ever since then, I’ve had serious buyers remorse. I don’t look at it and feel that it is truly “me”, or that it is particularly flattering on my body (I’d always gravitated towards a line, sleek, non-sweetheart neckline dresses). Maybe this is because the photos I have of myself in the dress are all horrible and make me look bad, or that the dress just doesn’t fit super well from the initial try on in bridal store.

Sooo, I’m looking for some advice / to rant lol. First question, has anyone had the bodice of this specific dress (Alexandra, or any other ML dress that has similar structure) shortened during alterations? Or had the body made less “full” during alterations? My dress is due to arrive in September, so I’m wondering if I should try and interject now prior to going to the bridal shop for fittings.

Lastly, does anyone have any suggestions on how to make it less “princess” and more chic / cool / editorial? Jewelry suggestions, accessories, etc.? Thanks sm!!

Groom Fit Dilemma

Hi! My fiance and I are getting married in Naples, FL in Feb 2027. The wedding I had envisioned is elevated and editorial, but still fun. Color palate includes blues, oranges, greens, pinks, and browns (16 shades in total were presented by our florist/designer). We both want the dress code to be along the lines of “tropical black tie optional”, and had initially envisioned groom and groomsmen in tuxes (my wedding dress is ballgown [Monique lhullier], so definitely statement / big presence of a dress that fits the dress code). I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what to have the groom / groomsmen wear aside from a black tux (groom wants to wear tux)? I just am not sure how the black will fit into the color palate. Thank you in advance!!

Edit: I meant to write the dress code envisioned is “Tropical Black Tie Optional”!! Since we are already asking people to fly to the wedding, we didn’t want to force those who don’t own tuxes into renting one on top of travel costs. Hoping men wear tuxes or well-fitted suits, and ladies wear floor-length dresses or midi gowns!
