Need to complain!

I am so sick of the rude + entitled customers. Today I got a call and the first thing this mfer said was that he needed an american agent. I am not American but I do live in the US. So I said that I would be able to help, and then this fucker asked where I am from. I said my state. He said that he needed to know my city and I said that I would not be giving that information, I repeated that I would be able to assist and that I was from X state. Then this fucker said, that’s a state not a city.

I was over it and I just transferred him because I could not deal with him anymore, I don’t really care at this point. I am relatively new to this job and had over 5,000 calls so far and no one has asked me this before. I was honestly insulted.

The funniest part was that this fucker had a very foreign name. I am so sick of it all.

Did anyone transition from bank call center to a branch?

Currently working at a bank call center and thinking about transitioning to a branch eventually. I know I probably have more opportunities for growth at a branch but the entry level salaries around my area are pretty much what I am earning now working from home , so idk if it’s worth it from that aspect. I am overqualified for the position I am currently in since I have experience in finance adjacent roles and business degrees but it was all I could find in this terrible job market and I only immigrated to the US last year so I had no US work experience prior to my current job.
The workload at my job is sooo heavy. I talk to around +60 customers per day and I currently live in a small city so idk if a branch near me would be that busy. I’ve been snooping here and I gathered that customers are as dumb in person as they are over the phone but my current workload is sooo heavy and draining.

I guess I am just looking for any stories of anyone who transitioned and how they felt when they made the switch.

Idk how I’ll make it through this week

I knew from day one that this job was not for me but I needed to work. I only have one day off this week. I don’t know how I’ll make it through. It’s just so overwhelming and daunting. I don’t get breaks between calla and it’s incredibly draining.

I guess I just need to vent and would appreciate tips on how to get through a demanding schedule.

I just want an AR job!

I have over 5 years of experience in AR in a highly recognized CPG company and a business management degree from my home country. I relocated to the US recently for marriage and cannot land another AR job. I realize now that AR jobs are entry level like positions in accounting and I’m ok with that. The thing is that the AR jobs in the US require at least an associates in accounting, knowledge of American GAAP, and ERPs that I don’t know. My company used SAP but that ERP is rare here apparently. Job descriptions mainly mention Netsuite, Quickbooks, etc.
I feel like my applications are going nowhere bc I lack these requirements and it’s frustrating because I do understand and enjoy AR. What’s worse is that due to my spouse’s job, I don’t necessarily live anywhere near a corporate hub so my job would have to be remote. Any suggestions? I am seriously considering an associates in accounting. Since I do have an associates degree from an American community college in general studies (idk why I even did that but I have it). Any suggestions?
I am authorized to work in the US and currently work at a bank but it’s very customer service heavy and I miss spreadsheets, dashboards, and meeting deadlines and KPIs at my own pace. I feel like I cannot get a break from all the customers that I have to handle at the bank and I’m so over it. Today I had to explain to a customer that their credit card expiring on 05/30 did not mean that it expired on May 30, but that it expired on May 2030. I know I can do an AR well, I just need to get back in.

Incredibly difficult call for a beginner

To start, I've only been working in a call center for about two months. No previous experience. I got a call from this woman today. She's incredibly distressed. Crying. She's saying that my company put her in danger because we sent her ex-husband's card to her new address. She says that he is dangerous and abusive and that my company has put her in danger by sending that card to her address, because now he knows where she lives, and she fears for her life. It sounds like a serious domestic violence situation. I am not equipped to handle a call like this. I immediately reach out to supervisors, and no one is willing to take her call. She keeps begging me to take her off the account and keeps asking me why my company did this. Why did we put her in danger? I do not know what to say. A supervisor tells me to let her know that the only way we can remove her name is by closing the account. She and her ex co-own the account. She cries even more when I tell her this because if she closes the account, her ex will become even more enraged. I am tearing up at this point and have to mute myself to compose myself. I do not know what to do; another supervisor tells me that there is nothing we can do and that she should contact the police. She hangs up on me when I cannot help...
Was it unreasonable for me to reach out to supervisors? I don't see how I would be able to handle a call like this, being new.

I’m new to the call center world. How do you handle the call flow?

I am expected to take one call after another, without breaks except for two 15min breaks and my 30min lunch break. Of course I can take breaks for bathroom/water but I feel like there is a quiet understanding at my company that I shouldn’t take them. I look at the time and see that there’s two hours left until my next “official break” and I get overwhelmed by how many calls I am expected to handle in those two hours. I started taking calls about 2-3 weeks ago, never worked at a call center before and low key do not think it’s the right job for my personality but it’s all I could land as of now. How do you all do it? How do you handle the call flow?
