Free Parking for Senior Citizens
Maayong adlaw! I wanted to ask tani if anyone here has any knowledge about the prescription of this specific City Ordinance passed back in 2012, stating, “giving privilege of free parking for Senior Citizens in malls and other areas in the City of Bacolod”.
It has come to my attention that parking areas in malls such as Ayala and SM in our city do not accommodate or allow this privilege for our Senior Citizens unlike in other cities such as Cebu or Manila.
My aging father has brought this concern up to me which led to why I have looked for any local documents online and have found this.
Whether or not the city ordinance has prescribed. It’s still sad to witness how big corporations situated in Bacolod (since there is no such issue for their other branches in other cities) are unable to adhere to special privileges that are given to SCs due to the fact that most of them have little to no source of funding.
I hope this concern would be soon brought up to the Local Government, especially with all the recent “Abanse Negrense” initiatives. With all the future planning occurring for our city, hopefully there wouldn’t be any disregard for our elders’ given rights.
