You know what really bugs me sometimes ? The smallness of this fandom in non english speaking circles.

I am french. I write fanfiction in french because it's comfier for me and because I want to improve my writing in my native language. I can and I do translate my fics in english but it's obviously not the same level of writing. I can't spend in english the insane amont of time I spend in french chosing the exact word I mean to say want I want to say.

The thing is, the tmnt french fandom was very small to begin woth, even back when 2012 was airing in France. But since then, neither the 2017 nor 2024 shows made it to the french tv and it feels like the fandom is very well dead.

So my english fic are getting some recognition and I am VERY happy about that, dont get me wrong. But my french fics ? On which I have spend month upon month writing ? Very little recognition, and mostly from non french speakers who make the effort to translate when they dont know theirbis an english version.

And I am happy to have my work read in both languages, really. But I CRAVE validation in my native language like nothibg else ! I worked hard to make sure it was well written damn it ! I want people with the fluency necessary to appreciate it to read it !

Im sure Im not the only one feelinf this way. And it must be even more frustrating for writters from country where the show has never aired at all, or where the fandom is just doesn't exist.

The frustration is real People ! I needed to vent x) thanks for reading this, I'll just go back to my good french writing and my so so english writing now. Bye bye.

Hello ! Not to be ranting on main but I need to share my weekly rot-brain woth all of you.

Except for Rottmt, I usually prefer when the turtles act like quadruplets, without the power dynamic of oldest vs youngest. They ARE the same age you know ? Leo is the wisest, and Mikey the silliest, and I love that, but I dont like when they getbstuck in those arbitrary roles.

THAT BEING SAID some quadruplets dynamics I love :

I just LOOOVE Raph being the only one immune against Mikey's puppy dog eyes, unlike Donnie and Leo who fold almost immediately every time.

And I LOOOVE Raph being absolutely incapable of saying no to Donnie's rare brand of little brother magic.

For his part, if Leo asks with enough vulnerability in his voice, Donnie would get him anything he wants in a second.

And finally, if any of Mikey's brothers look at him with the tiniest glimps of need-something in their eyes, he is genetically incapable of saying no. He hides that very well by being helpfull as often as possible because he doesnt trust Raph and Donnie with this kind of knowledge AT ALL.

Here, I said it. No need for older vs younger dynamics when everybody's got everybode wrap around their litlle fingers.
