There are 2 Congos
I'm a bit behind on the podcast so apologies if this has been brought up already, but the reason it's the country is called the democratic Republic of the Congo is because there is also a Republic of the Congo next door

I'm catching up on some older episodes of the pod some I'm not sure if this has already been posted/talked about. Burnie was talking about wanting to look into gambling and all the nonsense with sports betting and poly market so I thought I might drop a few places to start if people wanna learn more

For context I come for Australia. We lose more per capita to gambling than any country in the world and have more gambling machines than People buy some counts. This shit absolutely the devil do not let it into your house, I have watched friends piss away an entire months wages in one night
I'm sure it goes without saying. The job fitting the person and what not, but I'm doing my master in secondary education and some of my peers truly make me scratch my head.
I know a good few PSTs that just don't have....."It". The charisma, the delivery, the..... Vibe. They just don't have "it".
Do these people not look around the classroom/lecture theater and feel the striking difference between them and all there peers and think this isn't for me? Are they not going to placements and just feeling in their like bones that this isn't for them?
Like they just aren't operating on the same wave length as everyone else.
I was talking to one such person and they failed their last placement and I honestly wasn't shocked.
Does the universe or whatever body overseas teacher education not have the power to step in cases like this and just pull some one out from the course and say go try something else chief?
I'm by no means saying that I'm God's gift to the profession and certainly don't mean to insult my peers. But when I'm on placement or talking to my peers I feel like it sort of fit in.
Anyway that's me rant/vent/spiel
I don't know if I'm missing something here but is Scottish money not the same as English money. Do they not use the pound sterling?
I'm not sure about Dublin (every time I've been there I've used euros) but I would assume they would probably be willing to accept pounds.
Am I missing something?
Genuine question some of the criticisms of the show make seem like y'all haven't read the book at all. Or are committed to sticking your head in the sand regarding how exactly one would go about adapting a history textbook into 10 episodes of narrative drama across like 5 seasons.
That's not to say there aren't valid criticisms, but before have a cry about how a character changed and think what their character actually is in fire and blood
