IEMs
Starting to prep for a tour across Europe this fall with a band I’ve been working with for a while mixing mons. We’ve usually had IEMs for the lead vocalist and drummer, but the rest of the band are thinking of making the switch. I am assuming (based on past quotes) that purchasing will save us money in the long run over adding to our backline rental each tour. Anyone have any recommendations for a cost effective system that is reliable? We currently have a Sennheiser ew IEM G4 and G3 operating in range A (516-558Mhz) and A1 band (470-516.) We are looking to add 4 more units to have 6 total. We will be using house consoles, so most likely will be sending out mono mixes to each. Would also love some ideas for easy monitoring of each– in the past I have used a pack on the same frequency as the lead vocalist and just swapped my in ears to the drummers transmitter to monitor, but with 6 I feel like there has to be a quicker way.
