Akita Hates One family member
The story goes like this , I have a neighbour, who has a American Akita , so when that dog was nearly 8 months old, my friends dad tried to lift up the dog from collar , which was chocking the dog , so the dog warned by growling , but his dad not understand and still tried to lift him , for which the dog bite him , after that Akita simply hates him , he has attacked him 3 times , 2 times got stitches , so I just went to check on what occasion this happens , mostly it is when his dad is to close , when he don’t have space to get past his dad . But he comes to treat and sometimes he is perfectly fine with him .
Is their any way to make the dog like him again , I am sure it is near to impossible with Akita as they are very independent and deep rooted dogs .
He is perfectly fine and loves everyone in the family , so after few trials I found out that when his dad is close , tries to give treat and when Akita mind triggers that trauma situation of chocking , he goes for him . So it is intermittent and we never know when it can occur .
So they have kept the dog in place with Baby gate , I told them , treats can’t fix relation , especially with Akita . Earning trust with Akita after these incident is actually to hard .
Any suggestion will be helpful , so that family member try to make things better .
