FOR SALE:

SOLD - Pilot Bundle A - $300 shipped - Includes:

  • Pilot Custom 743 [A1], Black, F nib - Brand new. Will ship in original box, includes black ink cartridge.
  • Pilot Metropolitan Retro Pop [B], Purple Ellipse, M nib - Little to no signs of use. Probably closer to A2 condition, but am erring towards B because I've owned it for years. Will ship in original box, includes the original squeeze converter, and I'm throwing in a black ink cartridge as well.
  • Pilot Metropolitan Retro Pop [B], Turquoise Dots, M nib - Like its sibling, shows little to no signs of use. Also probably closer to A2 condition, but will also err towards B condition because I've owned it for years. Will ship in original box, includes the original squeeze converter, and I'm throwing in a black ink cartridge as well.

Pilot Bundle B - $275 shipped - Includes:

  • Pilot Custom 743 [D], Black, M nib - "D" condition due to nib swap but otherwise, this pen is really in A2 condition and has only been inked once. Will ship in original box, includes converter and black ink cartridge.
  • Pilot Blue, 70ml - Brand new bottle. No box included.

SOLD - TWSBI Diamond Mini [A1], Sakura Pink, F nib - $130 shipped - Brand new. Includes 18ml bottle of TWSBI pink ink. Ships with original box and wrench.

TWSBI Diamond 580AL [A2], Turquoise (2017 LE), M nib - $95 shipped - Inked once, then cleaned and stored away ever since. Includes original box, wrench and bearing grease.

Tom's Studio Lumos Pro, Duo Tip, Matte Midnight - $100 shipped - Brand new in box. Includes original Lumos full tip pen set and ink sample.

Kaweco Skyline Sport Fountain Pen [C-], Mint, F nib - $15 shipped - Scratches and dings from use and the plastic has yellowed over time. Pen is otherwise perfectly functional. No tin/box, but includes stainless steel Kaweco Sport pen clip and a blue ink cartridge.

J. Herbin 1798 Ink, Cornaline d'Egypte, 50ml - $25 shipped - I'd say the bottle is about 85%-90% full. Original box not included.

Tsukineko VersaMagic Dew Drop Ink Pad 4 Color Set, Clowning Around - $10 - Used but a few times before I realized using stamps in my planner just wasn't for me. Ideally to be sold as an add-on to any of the other items for sale.

Thanks for taking a look and I'm happy to answer any questions!

My diy ink swatching project continues…

So it started with me wanting to use an ink bottle stamp to swatch my inks. I couldn’t find any I liked in the right size, so I opted to draw out my own design and had a stamp custom-made through Etsy. While I was waiting for it to come in, it occurred to me that it might be fun to try my hand at carving what I wanted myself, and the result was a couple of hand-carved stamps that turned out pretty decent. I even ended up liking them more than the one I had professionally made because the hand-carved linework has a bit more character.

So I was onto the next phase. I’d settled on which of my hand carved stamps to use, and I had my swatch cards from Col-O-Ring ready. The new issue I ran into was that, while I was pretty happy with the stamped image, the stamp itself was a little difficult to maneuver because I didn’t have anything to attach to the back to hold it with. On top of that, I didn’t do the best job of trimming off the excess material around the image, which made it difficult to line it up properly on the swatch cards in order to leave enough room under the ink bottle to write out the ink details.

So I decided to try to put together a small registration jig using some scraps of cardboard and acrylic I had lying around and this is what I came up with! It required a lot of shifting things around ever so slightly to get it to where I wanted, but I got there in the end!

And yes, I’m aware this is all probably overkill for something as silly as an ink swatch, but what can I say? I like things to look consistent and also find a lot of joy out of figuring this sort of thing out and then making it myself.

I’m hoping I can make some time this coming weekend to actually sit down and swatch a decent amount of inks so I can update you all on the end result of this little passion project!

New Pen Day! TWSBI Diamond Mini in Sakura Pink

I really wish pen brands made their soft pink pens more widely available. Had to wait a bit in order for this to reach me, and the ink it comes with had to be chucked in the process in order to shorten the wait, but oh well. It’s beautiful!

Edit: The notebook pictured here is an A5 Hobonichi Day-Free from last year. As an aside, I wish Hobonichi made a version of these with more sheets of the grid paper.

Made a case for my pricking irons!

Hi everyone! I recently started dabbling into making my own journal covers and have been having a lot of fun making them. I had some left over material, and thought it might be neat to try to tackle making a little case to keep some of my new pricking irons instead of the regular plastic zip-top baggies they each came in. So I searched online for some inspiration and this is what I came up with! I’m still very much a beginner, so I know there’s room for lots of improvement, but I’m really pleased with how it turned out regards. I’m already thinking of ways I could make another version that’s a little cleaner but I think this will serve me well in the meantime and thought I’d share!

Carved a stamp for some ink swatches!

I drew out a bottle to have it made into a custom rubber stamp on Etsy, but while I wait for it, I thought why not try my hand out at carving it out myself? Mind you, it’s been an absolute age since I tried this is an art class at school so it took a good few tries, but I think the end result turned out pretty good! Should’ve given it a try before placing that order but oh well. You live and you learn.

Finally started a “Currently Inked” journal. Here’s a recent entry!

I’ve always kept currently inked logs in a list format where I’d basically just jot down the pen, nib, and ink combo in a single line in whatever notebook I happened to be using. It’s been helpful to look back on over time, but I always wished I had longer writing samples to refer back to yet never got around to setting something up.

Well, I finally did! I only have a couple of entries so far since it’s still so new, but I’ve been writing down little excerpts from books I read growing up or monologues from shows I enjoy as my writing samples, and then logging the pen and ink combo afterward.

Part of me wishes I’d started doing this sooner, but oh well. I’m really looking forward to filling it up now though!
