My real range of Kukirin G2 is way lower than usual real range (20km vs 35km)

Hi there..

I bought a Kukirin G2 with the intent to use it for commuting since it advertised a 55km range.

But I'm only getting ~20kms range (80kg) (with mode 1 at a speed of ~25km/h)

I knew that it would be less than the official advertised range but I was somehow surprised it was more than half less and just accepted it this way..

Until I read that people of the same weight have a way greater actual range.. Like 30 or 35km..

So I wonder if I got a defective battery?

How can I check?

Is it possible to notice a defective battery by measuring a whole charging cycle using an energy meter for example?

How much should I read?

Thanks!

Is a kubernetes cluster using different VPS considered multi-zone?

Hi there,

I want to run a kubernetes cluster using different VPS. This is for redundancy in case of failure of a VPS..

I read that a cluster composed of nodes in different regions should be avoided because of latency.

Are different VPS providers within the same "region" (e.g. west coast) considered multi-zone (or multi-region, I'm not sure about the terminology as it seems there's a difference in K8s lingo) that can have latency issues?

For some reason it doesn't make sense (in my head) to have a kubernetes "cluster" composed of nodes being "simply" VMs within the same "machine" as the likelihood of all VMs going down is still the same and depends on the same machine. But, this seems to be the default and I really don't get why..

Also, once the worker nodes are running and are receiving traffic.. Why should the control plane latency impact the users traffic?

For example, I don't care if "kubernetes" decisions (scaling a pod, etc.) take an extra 100ms..

What am I missing?

Thanks.

Proper way to cleanup LFS

Hi there,
I have a repo that doesn't have a .gitattributes file.
But git lfs ls-files list 5 files.
Doing git lfs prune outputs 0 local objects, 5 retained, done.

I did run git lfs uninstall...
And ran the following for each file git rm --cached <file>; git add <file>

Then I should commit but it says nothing changed.
So I tried doing that in steps...
First I ran git rm --cached <file> (for all files)
At this step git status showed in the Changes to be commited deleted <file>
But also the same list in Untracked files...
So I just commited here first..
Now git status showed the files as untracked...
Then I added them back and commit.

But after that, I'm still having git lfs ls-files showing the same list of 5 files..

I also nuked the .git/lfs folder but no matter what I do, I still have these files showing here..

How can I cleanup my repo?

Edit: Added as a comment. Resetting the repo (rmrf'ed .git and reinitialized with git init) still displays these 5 files?!

Hi there,

I received my unit and installed it in an ATX case with a 750W PSU (both brand new) and 16Gb 5600 DDR5 sticks.

But nothing happens..

No signal on HDMI nor the USB-C output (using a portable display that's working).

Nothing happens at all besides the CPU fan and the System fans are running..

When I touch under the CPU or the heatsink it's not hot at all.. I even tried to put the CPU fan aside to check if the motherboard will get a little bit hot.. But no..

I wonder if it's the RAM that's not supported?

Although I read that 5600 RAM on a 5200 board should run just fine (although at a lesser speed).

Could the motherboard be dead?

I also tried using only one stick, without RAM at all, without an NVME disk hoping it'll go to the BIOS but still nothing.. I also waited like a solid hour on every combination.. But still nothing..

Please help me troubleshoot it and find if the unit is dead..

Thanks!

Edit: I also tried resetting the device (both with the little push button when not powered on and unplugging/waiting/plugging the button cell connector)

Something I noticed is that now the computer powers on as soon as I switch on the PSU without even pressing the case power button - I remember at first I had to press the power button..
