Best artisan (or not) chocolates in London?

Not sure if this is the right place to ask but figured it might be! I’ve been a long-time lurker.

I’m looking for some really delicious, ideally fresh chocolates in London as gifts for very special people.

In the first instance I considered Fortnum & Mason’s counter, maybe Harrods but not sure if they do any chocolates counter-style. I’m not a massive fan of the more ‘higher end’ but (imo) kind of stale chains like Pierre Hermé, Laderach, Venchi, etc.

I think there are a few ‘fresh’ choc bar places in central… I’ve been to Barnaby’s which was quite nice, and walked past a couple others that I can’t remember.

Any recs would be so appreciated! x

AITAH for snapping at a friend who wouldn’t stop using his phone while we were hanging out?

Quite straightforward, really. I (F21) am on holiday with one of my best friends (M21) and he generally uses his phone quite a lot — while we’re walking, when we’re on public transport, regular checking social media/responding to messages. I’ve made jokes about it throughout our trip, saying things like ‘am I boring you?’, etc. Always lighthearted but clearly hinting at wanting him to be more present with me.

Tonight though, I snapped. We had recently got back from a day of touristing and were planning on going to a bar/club later on so I was making cocktails for us, we were playing music, etc. He got involved, but most of the time, he was glued to his phone, responding to texts, playing voice recordings from friends out loud, etc. I continued making jokes about his being on his phone, but nothing changed. I got so annoyed, it almost felt involuntary, and I grabbed my things and said I’m going on a walk. He asked why, and I said something along the lines of ‘you clearly don’t want to speak to me, I’m trying to make drinks for us/pregame for the bar but you’re glued to your phone’, and then I left for an hour or so.

I got back and apologised, and he then went on a walk himself to ‘let off some steam’.

It feels like such a silly thing to get upset over and I feel like I overreacted. Importantly, when I snapped at him, he said he was tired and wanted to ‘rot’ on his phone a bit, and that I do the same in the mornings, while he prefers to in the evenings. I really do get this, and it’s true that I like to have quiet mornings, so part of me feels like I should have respected his wishes to relax a bit on his phone.

But equally, I think it’s quite disrespectful to be on your phone attending to other people when you have a close friend trying to entertain you and engage with you in person? I really don’t know how to feel and I have apologised, but I’m not sure whether to stand my ground on this one and (maybe) move up my flight home.

AITAH?
