MS Ride questions?

Howdy - I'm mostly a solo cyclist and have been thinking about joining the MS ride, the shortest one. I ride multiple times per week with usually a longer 30-40 mile ride 1x week usually about 13-15mph, so I think I could handle it physically, but really haven't done a lot of group rides. Have had the MS ride in my scopes for a few years now since my best friend was diagnosed with MS and we usually do the walk together - but felt like I wasn't physically able to do it the ride until now.

Before I sign up, I guess I'm curious if anyone has any additional thoughts I should consider before joining in? Like, should I try to join some group rides or work on getting faster and wait til next year? I do have a road bike and it's my primary ride. I think I'm mostly concerned about keeping up, interacting with other cyclists, and possibly getting too hot. Thanks!

Hi! I'm coming in from out of state to watch my FSU student graduate. On her bucket list of things to do before moving on to her adult life is to ride the St. Marks rail trail - something we're wanting to do this Sunday.

BUT - I am having a real problem trying to find a bike to rent that's not the city bike rentals.

Figured before I fly in and buy an ozark trail bike at walmart I would see if anyone is willing to let me borrow/rent a decentish bike for the day?

Currently ride a 49cm road bike with flat pedals, would happily ride a mountain, gravel or cruiser bike just to do the ride with her 😄 so long as it's rideable 😄
