Resources for Planning Dance Curriculum - Master List

Hi fellow dance teachers! In case you missed it, I created a blog called Lesson Leap a few years back to post the dance lesson plans and syllabus I've created throughout my 10 years of teaching. As we are all preparing for the upcoming dance year, I thought now would be a good time to update some of this content and consolidate it into a master list. This is a master list of posts, categorized by class, to help inspire your curriculum for the year! 100% of the material on this site was written by me, a trained technical dancer and educator specializing in ballet (mix of Vaganova and Cecchetti), jazz, and hip hop. I hope you find some of this useful, and I wish you all this best this season :)

(NOTE: I will update this post as more material is added)

Q2 Pans + Ratings

I am super proud of myself for sticking to my project pan goals so far this year! Keeping track of my progress honestly motivates me to keep going. Here is everything I finished from April - June.

Rating system:

😍 = Love it

✅ = liked it

❌ = didn't like it

PRODUCTS I LOVED:

😍 Spa Luxury Shave Cream, Scent Coconut Cream - From Dollar Tree, excellent bang for your buck at $1.25 and I really liked the scent and feel!

😍 Ouai Body Wash, Scent St Tropez - Definitely a splurge so I can't say I will be regularly re-buying a $28 body wash, but when I use it I feel expensive. The scent and suds are luxurious

😍 InnisFree Green Tea Face Wash - Worked great for my acne-prone skin! I will be rebuying when I run out of my next cleanser. I had hardly any breakouts and used this for 6+ months. My skin felt super clean after using

😍 Etude Soonjung Barrier Cream - Great night time moisturizer for my super crusty and sensitive skin!

😍 Got 2B Glued Brow Gel - Held my brows down for dayssssss. Truly is like hair gel / spray for your eyebrows.

😍 Dove Unscented Baby Wash - Great for areas where you have sensitive skin! My fave unscented body wash. Easy to find coupons for this too!

😍 Purlisse BB Cream SPF 40 - Super moisturizing and good for dry skin! Pretty high coverage for a BB cream.

😍 Dossier Perfume, Ambery Vanilla Scent - I LOVE this vanilla scent, it's not too intense but still effective. I get compliments on it constantly, even several hours in when I can't smell anything anymore.

PRODUCTS I LIKED:

Power Stick Shower Gel, Scent Brazilian Mist - Another good Dollar Tree find! I found the scent to be like a lighter version of the Ouai St Tropez, but TBH it does feel a bit chemically. It's a great budget move and I use it to "cut" my more expensive washes, but this might not be the move for more sensitive skin types.

✅ Ouai Body Cream, Scent St Tropez - Again I love the scent and feel, but I got this as a gift and I don't think I would spend this much on this lotion on my own. It's good but nothing super special.

✅ Embryolisse Lait Creme Concentre - Thicker night-time moisturizer, but it made me break out a little bit. The cost per ounce also was a bit pricey. This would probably work well for non acne-prone skin types.

✅ Ordinary Milky Toner - This has gentle exfoliation so I used this once a week to combat breakouts and I think it helped a lot! Good think to add to my routine but not an absolute necessity.

✅ Welabel LAB Vitamin C Essence - My first time trying a vitamin C serum so I don't have much to compare it to, but I really liked this product! Does anyone else use this as part of their routine?

✅ Love & Beauty Dry Shampoo - Pretty solid dry shampoo! My favorite is the Not Your Mother's Dry Shampoo, and I found this to be a close runner up. Actually transparent and effective.

✅ CHI Heat Protectant Spray - It worked well as a heat protectant but I hated the intense fragrance.

DID NOT LIKE:

❌ Blossom Essentials Honey Lip Balm - Super gritty/grainy after a couple of uses. Could be a good exfoliator I suppose, but I really didn't enjoy this product. I got it through an Allure box so I am sure it is pricey and I would much prefer Burts Bees over this.

❌ Ordinary Squalane Cleanser - This product did nothing for me, and my skin never felt really clean afterwards. Felt like a wet lotion on my face lol.

❌ Eva NYC Dry Shampoo - Despite it's label, this product is not invisible!! Leaves a lot of white residue... There are much better options

Lmk if you've tried any of these! Curious to hear y'all's thoughts

Just curious. Also regarding the leap itself, It looks like an inside coupe to a leap from the supporting foot, but I am not sure! I see this leap a lot now and would love clarification.

I will add screenshot stills in the comments
