Career Advice: Retail Banking to Credit Analyst
I recently accepted a part-time CEA position at TD (subject to background clearance). While it's an entry-level retail role, my ultimate career goal is to transition into corporate/commercial banking as a Credit Analyst.
I currently hold the IFIC certification, which will help me within the retail stream, but I want to map out my next steps.
- What does a typical progression look like from a CEA to a credit-focused role? (e.g.,
PBA/Financial Advisor to Commercial?) - What additional skills or certifications should I pick up in the meantime?
- How soon is it appropriate to start networking internally?
