Started working this morning, jacked up the car and saw that the subframe and roll bar are rotten, only on the drivers side too, bc the car was parked outside for s few years between a wall and a hedge🫠 even the caliper is rotten as on the front drivers and the power steering feed line as well but im in too deep now🤩
Regardless hoping to have it run by next weekend
Recently managed to nag my dad into giving me his mk4 gti that he bought in 2020 or 2021. Its an early 2000 AGU 1.8T, 3 door in silver. It was last taxed in 2014, but had been run to move the car every so often until 2023. Hope to have the car insured and roadworthy by early november👹👹👹. So far I've just replaced the plugs, coil packs, dipstick funnel, air filter, cam position sensor, pancake valve and I've cleaned the maf sensor, but I have all the rest of the engine and suspension parts bought/ordered. Hoping to tackle the timing belt and surrounding parts this weekend (water pump, tenioners, accessory belt, tensioner, coolant temp sensor, thermostat, thermostat housing, coolant expansion tank, engine mount and its tty bolts, crank pos sensor, knock sensors, oil level sensor etc). I also gave the engine bay a quick clean as it's covered in old oil, grime dust, and filler dust as its sat at the back of the garage next to where my dad works (he's a panel beater). Would appreciate any advice on the Sunroof drain leaking into Interior, I found a video on how to reconnect it. The guy uses Strimmer coil to reconnect the drain pipe to the drain but any advice is appreciated🫡🫡
