Thoughts on trailers (generally)
I’m super excited for Werwulf, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed all of Egger’s works in the past, and can’t wait for the movie to come out. However, I’m not gonna watch the trailer, and am kind of stressed about how exactly I’m going to go about avoiding it.
See, my philosophy is I’ve already decided I’m going to see the movie, so I don’t really know why I’d watch the trailer. I rather like going in blind, because I feel like trailers can skew expectations, and will only ever watch trailers if I don’t know if I’m going to see the movie yet or not or if I already have low expectations. I did this with Nosferatu, Challengers, Bugonia, Superman, Marty Supreme, and felt I got a really genuine experience out of those because I wasn’t really sure what to expect.
How do you guys feel about this method? And also, what do you guys enjoy about trailers? I thought I’d spark this discussion considering there’s a lot of hype around Werwulf and the upcoming trailer.
