I just want to drive my car

Ok so I believe i’m experiencing the dreaded transmission failure on my 2014 Cmax Hybrid.
131k miles
First sign:
Parked my car after driving about 30 minutes. Came back and car would start up normally but wouldn’t enter “Ready to Drive Mode”. The yellow wrench popped up as I turned the key further. I just thought it was a dead battery since I had been sitting in my car for a while before exiting. Jumped it and it started! Yay

Second Sign:
A couple days after, I’m shifting from drive into reverse and my car locks up into park. Hm. I turn it off completely, open and shut the door…nothing. Yellow wrench pops up. I’m thinking the battery died again. Call for a jump and it didn’t work like last time. Car also wouldn’t shift into neutral…Had to witness my car getting towed in the scariest way possible. After a night, my car turned on just fine so I drive it to a dealer to get a battery replaced because in my mind, I think it’s just the battery.

Skepticism grows:
Turns out, the battery wasn’t the issue. I park, get out to do errands, come back to drive home and boom. Yellow wrench, car won’t enter Ready to Drive mode, realized “Hmm, the parking symbol isn’t lighting up orange.”, and opened google to research. I’ve had this car since March 2026 (not very long and these issues started in June) and didn’t research that much. Discovered that my car was entering limp mode to protect itself from whatever. It just kept doing the same thing. Dies then after a couple hours will start and drive. I decide to take it to a Ford Dealer service. Car sat there for over a week until I called them and they notified me that my transmission was failing and it would cost 9k+ to fix it. I’m shocked because there have been no signals besides the yellow wrench when my car enters limp mode. But, further investigation on the internet made me question if I didn’t recognize other symptoms like the whirring/droninng noise, or the thump from releasing the brake to accelerating…I thought those were just hybrid car quirks.

Currently:
My dad decided that there’s no way in hell it’s the transmission and said that it’s some clogged sensor. He bought the part, 2/3 dealers said they weren’t going to replace it because my car was either too old or it’s risk. The 3rd dealer was going to replace it but had the wrong manual for the car. Took it to a transmission place earlier this week, and they turned us away because the car wasn’t showing any diagnostic codes. We’re in the process of finding a dealer to replace this clogged sensor. Now, my dad has been telling me to wait for the parking symbol to turn orange before turning off my car which does in fact work! However, sometimes shifting into park won’t ever make the symbol turn orange and my car just enters limp mode regardless. My dad also assumed that I’m shifting from drive to park too fast but I can assure you that isn’t the case because I love this car and have been really careful with it! I wait a good 5-7 seconds before shifting into park from drive. I’ve had to leave my car stranded in parking lots for hours until it would start. There was on incident where I was reversing in the street and my car entered limp mode. I’m tired and I miss my car. I haven’t seen many other stories of people who had these symptoms. My fear is though that is beyond a clogged sensor and my transmission might actually be failing. I can’t differentiate between regular hybrid noises and the dying transmission droning but that would be the only other symptom.

Foley Catheter used as Colonoscopy Bag

First week at a my first ever facility (LTC + Rehab) as a newly certified CNA!! It’s pretty chill—we’re always stocked up on linens which I wasn’t expecting and I get along with everyone just fine.

Today, one of the MANY residents that me and the CNA orienting me were caring for had a f*cking Foley Catheter being used to catch her waste. I know that I haven’t been through nursing school or any other medical training besides my CNA course but that has to be malpractice, right? The CNA I was with told me that since she’s been there (about a month), the resident always has feces covering her and her bed due to the Foley Catheter. It’s hooked up where a COLOSTOMY BAG should be. The nurses apparently said that this resident doesn’t qualify/is compatible for one. So a Foley catheter does???? Her poop doesn’t even go through the catheter, the bag is empty and bone dry. The catheter insert overfills with poop, spills out of the bandage holding the catheter in place. It’s absolutely ridiculous and heartbreaking. All we could do was clean what we could and wrap a towel over the bandage and catheter. I see this resident everyday— she’s one of the handful of residents who gets out of bed and will interact with people but today it was so bad we couldn’t get her up. We told the nurses and they never even came in to change the bandage AT LEAST. The sh!t covered bandage…over an open wound. Due to another situation, State, the DOH, and Ombudsmen will be coming to our facility and I hope to have the chance to call this out. The resident isn’t able to properly advocate for themselves and I’m assuming the family doesn’t recognize this as an issue. It’s upsetting because I’ve grown fond of this place but the higher ups are lazy assholes. I just can’t understand how any MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL can see that situation and not do anything about it.

EDIT: Colostomy Bag not colonoscopy bag, sorry

another edit: I have reported this to the state immediately after seeing the responses. I go back in tomorrow and plan on asking a nurse about this resident and her situation. I could care less about how my facility reacts to the report, I just want it resolved since nobody with the proper authority is doing anything about it.

Is this a battery issue?

Yesterday, my 2014 Hybrid SE wouldn’t turn on 30 minutes after I had been sitting in it. I had the radio and ac on so I got a jump and was good for the rest of the day. Today, I was driving around running errands for about an hour. As I was shifting between Drive and Reverse, my car died! I was able to put it in park but once I did (without turning the keys) my car wouldn’t budge to Neutral. Called my mom who jumped the car yesterday to come jump it again in the same car. Nothing. Called a tow truck after accepting that my mom’s mid-sized sedan wasn’t doing enough. Tow Truck Man used a separate battery to try and jump my car, no luck. He noted how the car doesn’t make any clicking sounds and the brake is stuck.

I’ll definitely take my car in to get diagnosed but I was wondering if this is beyond a battery issue? I had no prior lights come up on my dash and I feel like it’s been driving smoothly since I got it in March. The only thing I can see correlating to this issue is how my car radio will also just cut out (loudly too) and I would have to turn my car off and open the door to get it working again.

any advice and question are welcomed

EDIT: I had the AC and radio on while I was just sitting in my car. I did some research and my car has done some other strange things that I didn’t identify as strange (not knowledgeable of cars really). My car would shake/rumble when I would turn it on or switch from EV to Engine. There’s also been several times when I would turn my car on and the battery charge would be low (less than 1/4 at times).
