Larger tires?

Own a 2010, like it a lot so far. I want to get some slightly larger tires for increased comfort on the road. I don’t care about speedometer inaccuracy, I never speed. From what I’m seeing people tend to recommend going taller instead of wider, and that makes sense to me. What are you running on yours?

Any ideas?

It’s looking like this is the hatch seal itself, but I don’t see signs of drying out or it being too squished down. It’s not the gasket behind the wiper arm. Those of you who’ve had rear water intrusion how did you fix it?

New (to me) Mazda 5

Just picked up a 2010 Mazda 5 with a little over 100k miles for a great price. Single owner, no rust, lots of good stuff going for it.

There was an oil leak above the oil filter, which the dealer told me they had repaired. I’m having it power washed underneath so I can get an idea of what is going on. I highly suspect it’s an oil cooler gasket as this comes up all over the internet under common problems. Will likely opt to replace the oil cooler in its entirety because I got a great deal and I’m willing to do some work.

It’s giving the usual MAF sensor code, cleaning it didn’t help so I’ve ordered a replacement, very cheap and happy to do the work.

Light clinking up front when hitting bumps in the road, but not bad yet so I’m assuming sway bar bushings/stabilizer links will be up next.

I’ve been told to switch this to a high mileage synthetic 0w20 at this age, and that seems to make sense to me.

My questions are:

Any other possible culprits for the oil leak? Had a PPI done and they didn’t think it was fatal. I’m willing to shell out money for new gaskets, should I go that route or at least send it off for diag?

How long can I expect to get out of new sway bar links and what can I expect to pay?

Is the change to 0w20 worth it? What oil are you currently running?

Any other recommendations for a new owner? I’ve been looking for one of these since they were still in production and am very excited to see where this new journey goes. TIA!

Picked up this 2024 with only 25k miles today. Planning to lift it a bit and put on larger wheels and tires. CVT service is the next thing on my list. Any suggestions for a new owner?
