Brother is abusive, can my mom kick him out?
My brother is 18 and he is physically and mentally abusive to my mother and sometimes me. The police say they cant remove him but that was when he was younger, now he's an adult and pays "rent" but he's not on our lease.
Im trying to convince my mom to kick him out because his behaviour has gotten worse, but she doesn't think shes allowed to. I want some help to maybe convince her in case shes able to.
TLDR
- He's not on the lease
- He pays $300 a month to contribute to groceries and a little bit of rent
Can she legally ask him to leave and does she need to give notice? Or if he doesn't leave when asked (it has happened too many times) will calling the police to get him removed work?
Sorry if this is long but it's been on my mind forever and I've always been too scared to post about it in case he sees it and knows it was me.
