Two Theories about Anastasya's Identity (Contains 7.0 info from WQ, No Story Spoilers)

With the new Fatui Artifact set Scarlet Proof, it is clear that the Tsaritsa is not Fae.

"When the Tsaritsa ascended the throne, for example, one of the first letters of congratulations she received came from the uninhabited reaches of the far north. Had it not borne the name of one of the princes, one might well have wondered whether its sender was still among the living. As for those in between, perhaps they refused to believe that His Majesty had truly perished in the calamity, or perhaps they could not accept that the crown had passed beyond the hands of their own kind."

This is a quote from the feather's story which tells us how Pulcinella became a Harbinger.

Since she isn't of the Fae, then I propose two options:

  1. Anastasya is/related to Koitar
  2. Anastasya is a vishap/dragon person.

Allow me to explain how it is possible, but I must remind you that this is all speculation and we didn't really get much about the Tsaritsa both in the quest itself nor in the readable books and notes available. It is all for fun and I hope you'll forgive me if I forget details that may make my line of reasoning invalid.

I.a Anastasya is Koitar

This is a old yet popular theory that lost momentum when Hymns of The Far North came out and everyone jumped to conclude the Tsaritsa is the daughter of Pakaisukko, only for the devs to go:

https://preview.redd.it/yb15absp44kh1.png?width=1279&format=png&auto=webp&s=70e10d59ff05d05513b7685b192823a305cae99f

So this honestly invalidates the "Pakkaisuko's Daughter" theory as the timeline will not add up. Also this is still a livestream exclusive lore bomb btw because there isn't anything in game that even suggests this connection yet. But we do know that the kingdom of Khaenri'ah was established before the fall of Sal Vindagnyr, while the War of Funerary Flame was on going.

Among the people of Hyperborea, there is a boy with star shaped pupils- his name is revealed in 'Notes by a Certain Noble Individual' found in the castle of the Belyi Tsar to be 'Anacharsis' aka the Saint. He was possessed by the Voyager and through him revealed the truth to the people and to Koitar, who decided to rebel against the Heavenly Principles. The two fell in love, fought against Celestia but lost and were torn apart with their memories erased.

It is highly likely the two had children who managed to escape the destruction of the failing rebellion and went on to establish Khaenri'ah, and as they are the descendants of the Tsaritsa... you can see why this theory is getting popular as well. However there is an issue:

  • Ronova didn't acknowledge the Tsaritsa as Koitar during the God's limits teaser.

For this I propose a hypothesis: Koitar split her divinity from her humanity Focalors style when she arrived in the ruins of Hyperborea. It's a very common occurrence among the gods, and by splitting one's self into different parts each one will eventually form their own identity.

Nahida possesses more determination than Rukkadevata, Focalors was much more calm and calculated compared to Furina who was desperate to hold everything together, and Zibai was split into her divine, earthly and human selves and each has a distinctly different personality and goal. Oh and her wolf son Boreas tried to do it too but it was unstable, and since he knows how to do it then its no debate that she too is capable of such a feat.

Once the divine power is separated from the physical body and thus 'Anastasya' is created and I think it is possible that the new name she receives is based on 'Anacharsis' but I am getting ahead of myself here.

With no powers, and a new name its not surprising Ronova wouldn't recognize her as the first angel herself and would look down on her 'paltry powers'. There is additional proof from the latest Archon Quest but I did promise no story spoilers, but just know she isn't all omniscient. Can't find Asmoday after all.

I.b Anastasya is related to Koitar

A much more simple association that is also possible that Anastasya is a relative of Koitar. It is possible that she's a sister or a cousin. After being enlightened by the Saint and Koitar she would go on and marry and then would have a son- this is assuming the one she married also has star shaped pupils like Anacharsis because some Hyperboreans are like that somehow? It is also possible the star shape pupils are a result of being possessed? As you can see its a bit iffy.

Unless we accept the uncomfortable theory that she marries Koitar's son, then they have a son and go on to found Khaenri'ah shortly before the War starts. But because of the curse of the angels, like Nicole she gave up a portion of her wisdom and power to retain her humanity but I suspect she's able to keep her voice because she also placed her memories and thus loses her memories. And since she's too long lived she's eventually driven out of Khaenri'ah after her son dies but this is fanfic writing at this point so let's stop here.

So TL;DR Anastasya could be an Angel.

II. Anastasya is a Vishap/Dragon person

Basically vishap people as a concept is possible as we have many examples.

It's a popular theory once that Khaenri'ans were vishap people. It first came up in some text from Enkanomiya as the people under Orobashi's instruction experimented on the vishaps they noted how highly adaptable they were and wondered if they could one day evolve into humans.

Then the Three Realms Gateway Offering limited event came out and we got the most iconic voice lines from Enjou... but he also planted the idea that there are vishap people out there who are integrated into society even though Kokomi denies this thought but only in context that Tsumi is Orobashi's envoy and not a vishap person.

Doesn't rule out the possibility of other people outside Watatsumi to be vishap people, and so the association with Khaenri'ah being full of vishap people is born. It doesn't help that there were people from Khaenri'ah who came to Enkanomiya to find information about the truths of Teyvat.

Later on in Fontaine, we learn the prophecy of the hydro sovereign being reincarnated as a human proved to be true through our esteemed Iudex. Little Pahsiv's name is literally vishap backwards because she is a vishap who turns into a melusine from time to time. And then we get the book 'Men of Lithin' which revived the conversation about vishap people because allegorical books are something we pay attention to as 'Perinheri' explained Arlecchino's origins and 'Timetrekker' foreshadowed Columbina's journey to becoming the Trilunar Goddess.

Oh and the Moon Goddesses only took human form after growing fond of them. And Ochkan the half-human half-dragon kid who did not have a good life...

So Anastasya possibly being a cryo vishap or even a dragon prince similar to Scylla is very likely if the writers wanted to go down that path. Besides... angels and the fae are both made from the flesh and bones of dragons.

After the death of the Cryo Sovereign as the big guy died during the first 40 year war, if her gentle and benevolent personality remains consistent and her objective was to first survive the colonization of the HP then she probably concluded "If we cannot bet them yet, better to adapt and join humanity"

It takes awhile because one does not simply become human...but she eventually transformed into a human, joins Hyperborean society then marries some star eyed boy and they have a son and at some point joins the founding of Khaenri'ah becoming their ancestor.

Anyway that's all I have rn I spent too long on this, TY if u r reading this. Will update with corrections if any

Final Project Stuzha predictions (100% leaks free):

TL;DR It's just the war prep project with a Celestia Destroyer 9000 weapon as the most important part of the project. For some its obvious but I also wanted to compile in game proof and a timeline.

With the Mayor and Banker harbingers in charge aka the personnel and material resource providers, The House of the Hearth standing to lose many members to the project most likely as soldiers and Childe being super soldier Mr. Vanguard of the Tsaritsa as well as the constant drain of supplies as stated by Liben who's consistently given us pretty good hints about the state of affairs in a region (except Natlan because man was stuck in a ditch).

Project Stuzha is just Snezhnaya officially going to war, and they started the project by the time Fontaine came out. And I believe its because after the destructing of the Hydro throne, they confirmed Celestia is asleep and the Shades are bound by the Rules™.

Misteltine is definitely a weapon they plan to use against Celestia as in real life mythology this is the weapon of Thrain. No I don't want to cope myself into thinking this will lead to his revival. BUT I do want to believe they used his weapon as the foundation.

Which is most likely why they needed all that kuuvahki from Columbina as its a pretty good source of energy to use as a foundation. And the Ancient Moon's remnants could become the base material for the weapon. And then the gnosis could be used as an enhancer since that is the specific function it serves for the archons.

But making a Celestia Destroyer 9000 would probably attract the attention of the Shades as seen by the God's Limits teaser... Ok they kinda know what their up to (the Snezhnayans have been rebels since the Belyi Tsar apparently based on the Super-Conduct set story)

So I wouldn't be shocked if they revealed that Dottore's 'betrayal' was a guaranteed way to distract the shades long enough to actually finish the weapon development, on top of leveraging the burning of Irminsul as a way to loosen the restrictions of the fate system.

And lastly based on the trailer for 7.0, with how the project is already in progress, and the Tsaritsa is having a 'triumphant return' it probably means she's testing the weapon now so Ronova made her move after finding that loop hole in the rules since it took forever for her to actually act despite being sus for almost a year now.

And based on the Transcendence trailer, could the spear the Tsaritsa used to challenge Ronova be a prototype for Misteltine? I say this because I imagine the Misteltine would be a more advanced Arrow of Terpikeraunas, but its purpose isn't to destroy the abyss but Celestia instead.

Why do we believe descenders automatically have a 'will to rival the world' powers?

edit because reddit is reddit and maybe im bad at wording things:

I already know the difference between Outlanders and Descenders... My question is does a descender immediately acquire a will to rival a world or is it something that's developed over time? I suppose this shows how shit I am at communicating

For context, we know the most common characteristic of a descender is the "will to rival an entire world" which allows them to rise above the rules of the world and influnece its fate. I honestly forgot the source, but the will is to specifically create, destroy, preserve or save the world which fits each descender we kinda know about so far.

But whenever the community discusses and argues about descenders, there is an unspoken assumption that a descender automatically has that great world breaking power.

But what if they don't?

Think about it: can an outlander who just arrived at a new world automatically have the will to rival it? How can you rival the will of the world if you know nothing of the world in the first place?

Clearly the Traveler didn't considering Asmoday aren't phased by them from the fight we have seen, yet their classified as the 4th descender regardless. They even have their powers surpressed by who we are assuming to be Celestia and someone like Arlecchino was able to over power them at one point.

Additionaly, said powers only returns with each Statue of the Seven they resonate with. But it is undeniable that certain phenomenon in Teyvat doesn't affect them such as memory alterations and the outcomes of fate (ex. We absorbed the feter that was killing Hu Tao but didn't suffer the same fate during 2024 lantern rite) But their power is extremely lacking when we look at the feats of the 1st descender.

Till this day people argue whether or not Nibelung was the 2nd Descender because it is conflicting with the fact that he is a Teyvat native, but the research of Rene suggests that one can ascend to the level of a descender but naturally an outlander unbound by the laws of the world have an easier time. So if Nibelung's will was to destroy the world created by the Heavenly Principles in an effort to reclaim his home, then it makes sense he's become a descender even if he previously wasn't. Which is why Nicole considering him as the 2nd Descender makes sense.

The 1st descender already had a clear and powerful will to achieve their goal: create and establish human civilization on a suitable planet. The 3rd Descender who we are currently calling Saaralainen, I assume he wanted to preserve the world with how deeply tied he is to the lore of Snezhnaya and how the cryo is the element of preservation and memories. Plus the whole stella linchpin and stellar glimmer phenomena being closely tied to cryo

Maybe its why they made our Twin the heir to the throne and its why Khaenri'ah has an orphanage for outlanders in hopes they would become or awaken as a descender, plus it was their research that inspired Rene if I remember correctly. It wouldn't surprise me if this was why Crucabena the previous Knave established the House of the Hearth hunger games, an experiment to measure human will transcending the limits.

This is my first time in this subreddit so apologies if this was something that was already discussed previously. Of course we clearly still don't have enough information for anything truly substantial and conclusive. But that's the fun of lore theories right?

I honestly started pondering this question with the whole 'voyager became the 3rd descender' discussions. I want to make another post about the voyager specifically.

Additional apologies if there are some incorrect information, I wrote this in one sitting and only used what i remembered and didn't look up the original sources to double check. I'll try to add corrections if someone points it out.

Why read this far when its a waste of time?

Maybe we should take a break from waiting for the Tsaritsa reveal for now (reasoning below)

https://preview.redd.it/13058l1ihb9h1.png?width=900&format=png&auto=webp&s=d97e78e1d915a267d5602181c5f6c4eb9678825b

idk about you guys but i'm in the same timezone as china (GMT +8) so the usual times they drop trailers is reasonable (12PM and 6PM in the evening)

however after 3 days for waiting around 11:30 refreshing the youtube channel for 10 minutes and sighing really loudly the hour afterwards is very tiring tbh

past patterns have had majority of teasers be released on mondays, wednesdays and fridays. Character demos on tuesdays only happen because a character's first banner is when the next patch goes live.

people are concerned about beta leaks which is fair because leaks being openly shared in public spaces without the consent of others is aggravating, but beta leaks don't arrive till preload at the earliest and clearly hoyo has been keeping snezhnaya under wraps made of vanta black somehow.

anyway, get a good rest.

see you tomorrow
