Guava spread and Porto’s cheese pastry

A friend ordered us frozen cheese pastries from Porto’s since we aren’t near a physical bakery in Southern California, and they’ve been delightful since we can bake them fresh on demand. Last night, we felt like we unlocked a whole new treat adding Trader Joe’s guava spread! It was absolutely divine. I actually think I favor it over Porto’s guava and cheese pastries. What can’t this guava spread make even better??

Dog steals wheeler home alone

We’re taking care of a family member’s dog for a few months who is four years old and a catahoula leopard dog mix. She gets along with our dog, but she has behavioral issues. We’re making great progress leash training her and working on not jumping on people, but we aren’t sure how to tackle her digging through things to steal food while we’re gone. My husband I both work from home, so it’s only happened three times now in the month we’ve had her, but she’s able to open doors and pull open drawers to find my husband’s treat pouch or his bag of kibble he uses at night for our dog to prevent his acid reflux. She also broke our hamper previously just during family visits to get a his pants that contain treat dust in the pockets.

We were thinking we would have to crate just her while we’re gone or use baby gates. But that leaves our dog either separated from her or stuck with her wherever they are. They seem to really love each other, but because she’s higher energy, we want him to be able to escape from her. Has anyone been in a similar situation? Is crating the dog our only option? Are there any other training techniques we could use?
