Anything wrong with this cartridge alignment tool?

I’ve been using this cartridge alignment tool on my Audio-Technica LP120 for a couple of years. I’m not looking for 100% precision but do you like to have things dialed in and this seems to be not only accurate but easy - as it attaches to the LP spindle. Are there any downsides to this? Anything that is also easy that would dial it in tighter? I’m not hearing or seeing anything in the playback but a discussion with a couple of people that know more about turntables than I do said that this just isn’t accurate. What am I missing?

Waltham Riverside Maximus

This is from my father’s estate and he had a small collection of pocket watches, around a dozen, but this one was the only one he marked a value on and it also appears to be the heaviest and is likely 14k or 18k gold. This one was marked that he had “turned down an offer for $1100 in 1990”, and I’m wondering whether or not that was a good decision. I don’t have a reputable jeweler contact and I’m hoping that I can rely on Reddit to point me in the right direction. I’m just outside St. Louis, Missouri, there are plenty of jewelers close, but I have no idea where to start. I can’t say that I’m interested in owning this much longer. He also had a few nice wrist watches and that’s my keepsake. Any idea on value or the best way to get rid of it?

Hotspots with a Blaze gas grill

This is my five year-old Blaze gas grill, I removed the grates over the natural gas burners for these photos once I’ve spotted my hotspots. It has three gas burners and one infrared.

About three years ago, we moved and I converted from LP to natural gas. I didn’t notice anything at the time, but I have some pretty significant hotspots at the back of each of the burners. I suppose it’s possible I may have missed one of the gas fittings, but has anyone else had an issue like this before I tear it apart? I like the grill overall I have not had issues with it cooking unevenly, but clearly the glowing steel is a sign that I’ve got something going on.
