Limping basset update

I posted a while ago about my basset limping on one of her rear legs. She is the 3 yo tricolor cutie in the photo, pictured with her lemon brother who is 1. The vet put her on anti-inflammatory medication which really helps, and we finally had her sedated xray done. It turns out she has a small tear in her ligament on that leg that has led to inflammation among other things. The vet said she expects this is related to genetics and she got this injury running (these two have regular basset races in our fenced yard). The vet said that my girl will recover, which is great. At the same time, the vet indicated that it is likely that there will be further such injuries on both legs, because statistically this is what happens over time, which terrifies me. I welcome advice, especially from folks with pups with similar diagnoses.

Limping basset

My beautiful American Basset Hound (almost 3 yo, about 48 lb) just started limping on one of her rear legs. She only seems to limp noticeably when she is getting up from sleeping on one of the comfy dog beds in the house and it stops being noticeable after a few minutes of her walking around. At the same time, she has been going on regular 1.5 mile walks, continues to jump on and off the couch, and races our other basset in the yard at full gallop seemingly without pain. It is almost as if her leg is falling asleep sometimes, but this is new behavior for her and I don't expect that it is that simple. She also seems to be a little hesitant about stairs, which did not used to be the case.

We are keeping an eye on her, have temporarily stopped taking her for walks, and will take her to the vet if the behavior does not clear up in a few days. In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone has seen behavior like this before and have any suggestions. Thanks!

Our house in Ulster Park has brush and saplings growing on a somewhat steep slope. I welcome recommendations for someone who could come out and clear this part of my yard.
