Long shot - hoping someone knows my biological father

Edit: I know he has a Facebook but he doesn't use messenger or know how to reach the other folder where my message would have went. The only address I have found that may be his is one he may no longer live at because it looks condemned.

I was born in Kingston in 1987. For almost my entire life, I believed I knew who my biological father was. Recently, DNA testing turned that upside down, and I discovered that the man I had always believed was my biological father actually wasn't.

That started a pretty long journey of trying to figure out where I came from and who my biological father actually was. Through DNA matches, family connections, and eventually additional DNA testing, I was finally able to confirm his identity.

His name is Frank Rittie Sr., and he's from the Kingston area. It appears he used to be higher up in the fire department.

After going through all of that to finally find the answer, I've hit a problem I honestly didn't expect: I can't find a way to actually contact him.

I'm not looking to disrupt his life, demand anything from him, or put anyone in an uncomfortable position. I would just really like the chance to reach out to him myself and ask some questions. He is in his 80s now and I worry it is now or never. I really want to talk to him before I lose the chance forever.

He was married for 60 years and has adult children who are a great deal older than me. My mother was 20 and he was a married man in his 40s. My mother is no longer living so I am unable to ask her any of the million questions I have.

If you know Frank and would be willing to help me get a message directly to him, please send me a private message. I would prefer it to go straight to him and not his (other) children. I would appreciate it immensely.

Cat sitter?

Does anyone have a cat sitter recommendation? I might need someone to stop in and feed my cat once or twice in September, and don't know many people here yet.

Ms Pema’s Garden

Just wondering if anyone has sent their child to her program?

My son is turning four and I currently have him enrolled in Meagher. My wife is nervous about how long the school days are since my son still takes a nap.

We are looking at the three hour Monday through Wednesday schedule which ends out to be $600 a month (sounds reasonable)

My worry is the creating structure for him throughout the day.

I work at night currently and I do feel that the three hour schedule will give me more time with him throughout the week.

I’m running out of time to make a decision and I’m just looking to see anyone else’s experience.

Thank you

Dyke Country Comedy Tour!

Hiiii, I’m Kate! I’m a Brooklyn comic hitting the road with my good pal Lee Robinson to do some gay comedy in the Northeast. Our first stop is Kingston on 5/21. Would love to see you at Unicorn Bar if watching two dykes do some very silly standup sounds fun to you! And there’s an open mic after the show so we can all do standup and become best friends and live happily ever after 🥹❤️ See you there!

Beginner fishing spots

I love to fly fish and I am determined to get my wife into fishing.
I want to start with something easier and smaller (not fly).
Are there any good river or lake spots where you are likely to catch something, but also has an easy terrain to fish around?
Are there any lakes around here where you can rent a small boat for a few hours and fish?

Any advice would be great!

Cross country skiing on trails in Kingston?

A little early I know…but for people who xc ski, are there any trails in and around Kingston that don’t require driving to Belleayre or further out? Bike trails that get groomed? Lmk! TIA.

Has anyone filed the "Free Street Tree Planting Request"?

A few big trees were taken down after storms in my neighborhood and I would like to plant a tree on the hellstrip in front of my house.

Am I allowed to plant what I want as long as I take care of it?

As anyone requested a tree planting from the city?

Thanks!
