I've been craving Israeli food -- really missing shakshouka or a good falafel. Does anyone have any recommendations in Ulster or Dutchess? There used to be a popup called Bibi's by Kingston Bread and Bar at West Kill Supply but I haven't seen them for a while. Thanks!
This is a friendly reminder to everyone who lost internet over the past few days that Spectrum will credit your account for a full day for any outage lasting over two hours. You have to speak or chat with an agent.
Cheers!
Does anyone have any info on the police activity on Downs st this afternoon? A guy ran through my yard with a cop right behind him about an hour ago.
How do we feel about this one?
Does anyone know?
Just moved into the area, already love all the bars but looking for a good spot for the game that might not be your usual sports bar feel.
Hello, I’m a former bass clarinet player who would love to get back into playing with a band or orchestra, I loved my experiences in my 20s doing it! I’m based in the Albany area but will travel and obviously bring my own bass clarinet. I also loved singing in ensembles, I’m not the greatest singer but I am an alto/tenor female so if you know any non-audition vocal groups that need that, I’d also be interested! The larger the group, the better because I love making friends too!
Hey neighbors,
I recently got a kegerator from facebook marketplace but am feeling very out of my depth. Would anyone be able to come check it out (I'm in the rondout) and advise me on what I need to do to fix it up? I've watched so many youtube videos and am still stuck.
I work on a farm and would be happy to give you my week's worth of vegetables in return for a consultation!
I have a 2.5 month old and have been looking into daycare options since I found out I was pregnant. I’m at a loss and looking for recommendations. Anywhere in Rhinebeck, Red Hook, Kingston, Saugerties, or Woodstock that you recommend? Also open to a nanny situation because the options are so limited.
I’ve heard of like two places that take babies and they’re both not great for many reasons and another is literally not answering me despite almost now 7 attempts at contacting them in two months since they began offering infant care.
Look at the “N”. It isn’t even aligned with the other letters. These signs are embarrassing. How did they even get approved?
There's nothing more important to a thriving community than having a place where timely discussions, thoughts, events, news, and even piping hot tea is both encouraged, and accessible to everyone. Introducing a weekly thread for the Kingston community to chat about all the goings on about town!
Hi! Our young family is planning a move to the area in the coming years from other parts of NJ/NY. We are trying to get a sense for school options. Would love to hear from people that have their kids in nearby school districts!
My hero!
Any Hip-hop beginner/intermediate classes for adults around the Kingston area? Thanks :)
Other than Loughran park, are there any pavilions or a park space i can rent or reserve for a birthday party in Kingston? Likely for around 40ish people over the summer.
Hiiii, I’m Kate! I’m a Brooklyn comic hitting the road with my good pal Lee Robinson to do some gay comedy in the Northeast. Our first stop is Kingston on 5/21. Would love to see you at Unicorn Bar if watching two dykes do some very silly standup sounds fun to you! And there’s an open mic after the show so we can all do standup and become best friends and live happily ever after 🥹❤️ See you there!

Born in the Bronx to an Italian mother who didn’t move to the US until she was 20.
Spent most of my life in Dutchess County and the Bronx.
A few years ago I had Frank Guidos for the first time. For the price, the portion was pretty good but the quality I thought was below mediocre and the sauce tasted like it came out of a plastic container. The eggplant was very greasy. I was disappointed and never had it again.
They have so many 5 star reviews and just couldn’t see it when I had it. The prices have gone up looking at the menu and they still have so many positive reviews.
Now I know Italian and American Italian cuisine are two different things.
Maybe I was spoiled with the cooking growing up. Maybe Guidos had a bad day?
Ulster has far less than Dutchess.
Just looking for others experience there or where they like to eat?
Hello all!
I’m currently on the hunt for a retail space in Midtown Kingston and figured I’d post here in case anyone has leads, connections, or advice.
I’ve been checking listings daily and reaching out to a few realtors, but it seems like a lot of spaces around here move through word of mouth before they ever hit Zillow or LoopNet.
Ideally looking for:
• ~900–1000 sq ft
• Midtown Kingston
• Natural light / open layout
• Long-term lease preferred
If anyone knows of landlords, upcoming vacancies, or local people I should connect with, I’d really appreciate it. Thanks so much!
What a good place to eat with beer within walking distance of Assembly? I’m in town going to a show there tonight and figured this was the best place to ask. Thanks!
