Finished my first book on my ereader :) What are y'all reading?

I've had my Bigme B6 for twenty-seven days and just finished my first ebook on it last night. I've been reading The Rise of Endymion, the last book in the Hyperion Cantos, by Dan Simmons. I've also been reading some Berserk manga - but as far as actual books go, here's my first finished ebook.

This morning I started a book I've wanted to re-read for a while, Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes. It's refreshingly short compared to the Hyperion Cantos. I've purchased Blood Meridian by Cormac McCarthy but I want to speed through Flowers for Algernon first as it's a library loan and not a purchase.

I also joined my first book club ever since getting my ereader, a silent book club with no assigned reading, and went to my first meet yesterday.

What are you reading on your ereader now?

Got my first ereader, a monochrome Bigme B6, and I'm in love!

I've had my Bigme B6 since July 20th but last night just got around to customizing it a bit. I used Niagara Launcher, this theme is just a premade one they had to choose from but I thought it looked nice on the b/w eink screen. The few widgets I chose here are Rain weather app widget (by creator Dark Night) and Audio Widget Pack (creator Stellio Soft). Both widgets are free but the swiping/stacked widgets is a paid feature of Niagara Launcher. I think these work out together to be a very cute theme! :)

I also am loving using the Bookmory app for tracking reading, I've gone from reading around once every week or two weeks to reading every single day since I got this ereader, and the book calendar feature on bookmory is such a fun way to track that. I'm currently reading Rise of Endymion by Dan Simmons as well as a little Berserk here and there.

Anyways, hi! First post here! Super happy to join the little ereader community!

Bigme Hibreak S - Do you prefer the color or monochrome version?

I will be buying this phone as a secondary device to my 'actual' phone, so using it more as a tablet/e-reader and mp3 player most the time, with plans to switch my sim card to this phone when I want to be more in the moment (such as when camping or hiking).

I'm sort of drawn to the monochrome version for the charm of it, however I feel like the color version could also be nice for reading comics and manga.

I'd love to know what y'all prefer between the two.

Also, is there a black and white mode that the color version can be switched to?

Thanks!

AI features being pushed/hard to disable on e-ink tablets/phones.

I am looking to get an e-ink tablet/phone as a birthday treat. I am drawn towards Viwoods 6.13 as it has everything I want and I can get it under $300 (preferred price, but under $400 is a must).

The only reason I'm not committed to this one is because it seems like it really pushes the AI features, which I'm not a huge fan of. If anyone can let me know how difficult it is to disable this feature I'd appreciate it. I'm not tech savvy per se but I can follow instructions well enough.

I'm also looking into Boox and Bigme devices. I'm open to any brand but what I want is an e-ink tablet or phone that is handheld size (phone size or smaller) that has access to the Google play store so I can also install Spotify and use it as an mp3 player and an ereader.

Must have Bluetooth of course, but doesn't have to have its own speakers. I don't care if it's color or monochrome. Having the ability to input a sim card so I can get a tablet data plan on it is a bonus but really not necessary as I can just use WiFi and the hot spot from my phone, but given the option it would be worth it not to use up my phone's battery.

I know AI implementation in smart devices is near unavoidable at this point but I'd like to avoid using it as much as possible, I'm just not a big fan of AI.
