A theory about the One Wish Willow that I haven't seen anywhere else yet (or maybe it's out there and I've just missed it completely).

We know for sure the OWW works for some and not others (due to the web/forum search Bear does). Maybe some wishes are just too outlandish and can't be fulfilled... OR maybe there's a cost. The common thread for all of the wishes we see come true is death; in every instance there's a life-cost just before it's made. It feels like Sandy the cat was a catalyst to the first wish being fulfilled.

Bears wish = Cat dead
Ian's wish = Sarah dead
Fake Nicki's wish = Ian dead

Whether the death is caused by you or just surrounds you (knowingly or unknowingly) the death being so close to your own spirit could be the reason the One Wish Willow works for some and not others.

I had a beautiful baby girl and I'm very grateful to have her but the journey to give birth (ended up being a very badly failed induction + emergency c-section) was fucking horrific. But that's for another time.

What I want to talk about is sweeps. Everyone online and in person mentions them casually but for me they were excruciating? At one point a doctor was trying to perform a sweep and I asked her to stop... but she wouldn't. I felt violated. I learned weeks after at a midwife appointment that this was just assault and I should report it. I haven't built up the courage just yet.

Because it was an induction they went up into my cervix several times (dilapan fucking twice + sweeps). The only time I could manage to handle it was when I was high on gas and air, and even then the midwives and doctors made it feel like that was a strange thing to request?

Is it actually awful or is it just me? Maybe my cervix is just crazy high up idk. I know that obviously it's just something you have to deal with, but it really was one of the worst pains I've felt.

1 = minimal feeling/hardly noticeable
10 = unbearable/couldn't cope
