WinCTRL Airbus Pedals vs. A320 Home Cockpit – Fitment Issues?
Hi everyone,
I have pre-ordered the new WinCTRL Airbus Pedals, but I am facing a major concern regarding the dimensions.
According to the official specs, the stance is approximately 546 mm. Most 1:1 scale A320 cockpit builds (like Skalarki, Vier Im Pott, or Poldragonet) have a much narrower footwell. In a standard shell, there is simply not enough clearance between the center pedestal and the side walls for a base of this width. I also built my rig with the original measures I found on the internet.
I am looking for advice or opinions:
- Modding: Has anyone seen detailed teardowns to confirm if the internal mechanism can be mounted without the wide base plate?
- Solutions: If you are building a scale cockpit, how are you planning to integrate these? Are you modifying your floor/MIP deck or looking for a way to narrow the pedal stance?
- Alternatives: Should I stick with the pre-order and try to hack it, or are there better alternatives that offer similar quality but fit the narrow A320 footprint?
I really like the tech behind the WinCTRL units, but I'm worried they are designed more for open office chair setups rather than enclosed scale cockpits.
What are your thoughts? Should I cancel or is there a viable workaround?
