OEM Speced Bikes with SRAM Road groupsets

I wonder why the few cyclocross bikes you can still buy new always come of the shelf with SRAM road derailleurs. I get it that the XPLR ones are optimized to be ran with a 44t cassette but you can also run tjem with a 36t. wouldnt these be the better fit since they give more chain retention due to the firmer spring.

NBD Seka Exaero GR

Honestly this will be some kind of rant. But I think there are many people in the market for this bike/frame and maybe this will help someone.
Received my Exaero GR today.
Paintjob is beautiful and the look just turned out how I wished for.
If you are a fan of the Giant TCR Seatpost, you are right in the market. You got a just a couple of cm wiggle room for Seat height setup. Seatpost must be cut to your height what kills resell value and makes a good bike fit in advance a necessity.
Now comes the biggest bummer with a huge margin - Tyre clearance.
It is a total joke what Seka advertises for this bike. They claim 52mm in the rear.
I mounted a G one RS in 50mm onto a 28mm IW rim. Measured the Tyre to 50,7mm. It is just about fine. Also tried a Thunder Burt on the same rim which went just to 51,8mm. The hairs of the tyre where brushing over the frame on the chain- and seatstays. With minimal force from one finger I can pull the Tyre into the frame. It just needs a grain of sand and there will be scratches. I am think you can compare the clearance with a Spec crux. I'd say if you want to be really safe dont go bigger than 48mm. 50 will be okay. Forget about 52!
A great bike for fast Gravel and mixed use with road riding but please don't be fooled by made up marketing claims.
Will probably end up keeping it since the fork and seatstays are cut and the geo really seems appealing to me but probably would have picked something else If I had the chance to do so.

Bike shown is a size 49.
